I’ve already been seeing comments like that, or one where it said “They somehow made the graphics in the second one worse than the first.” And honestly, there’s just some people that want this game to fail for various reasons. But all in all, this is everything I’ve been wanting and more out of a sequel to kcd. No gutting the mechanics to appease everybody and neglect their fans, no price gouging, none of that. It’s as Neon said, it’s a 5 year polished Kingdom Come Deliverance 1, with more to do and a continuation of Henry’s journey. And honestly that’s all I could want! But notice how people are saying that about this game, yet weirdly enough people didn’t say that about God of War: Ragnarok when it came out 🤔

Warhorse sticking to their vision is not just great, I think it's imperative for this game. Giving too much credibility to the critics of some of the more "hardcore" mechanics and ways KCD did things would just likely dilute the experience. Sometimes the lack of comfortability and ease of use is just really important for immersion. I think Daniel Vavra is great in this aspect: he's stubborn and confident enough to stick to the vision, and he seems to be fairly good at distinguishing between baseless and warranted criticism.

KCD was the best game i never managed to complete due to combat and save system. I really hope KCD2 has some sort of solution for people like me.
@MrMichalMalek2 ай бұрын
There are two simple solutions - practice and thoughtful approach, both to be deployed by you. The more you practice a particular skill the better you get and the easier it gets (your irl self will get used to the mechanics while the game character will increase its stats); as for the saving system, the potion saving is there to force you play reasonably as if it would be a real life. With unlimited saving players would just go straight for difficult/improbable outcomes, keep dying and reloading and as soon as they get lucky, they save the game again and do another difficult task in the same manner. With limited saves you to be strategic and consider what is worth the risk and what is not, making the game much better experience. But you have to accept the mechanics instead of fighting them.
@TroySavary2 ай бұрын
The combat mechanics are simply horrible though. The game responds to your inputs so slowly. I want to fight the enemies, not the interface.
@playmsbk2 ай бұрын
@@MrMichalMalek yeah, but in the early game this is a very conflicting design choice. Henry sucks at everything, the player doesn't understand the systems and the cost of failure is always high, (and the game is still kinda buggy which can make things worse) so you're disinsentivized from experimenting. In my first playthrough I ended up being just a meathead, because combat is the only thing you can practice without severe risk, and completely ignored systems like stealth or archery. In my other playthroughs I am much more versatile, but it's mainly due to strategic save planning and the willingness to waste time.

This answered a bunch of questions I had, thanks for the hard work.

I wonder if the presence of these dialogue choices means that there won't be a save transfer system. The Witcher 3 had both as you could either transfer your Witcher 2 save or "simulate" it with ingame questions.

They said (multiple places I believe, but also to me directly after asking) that there won’t be a save import system
@peterk27352 ай бұрын
And honestly it’s not like the save import in the Witcher made much of a difference
@electricindigoball12442 ай бұрын
@@peterk2735 It's been a few years since I last played The Witcher 3 however I do recall that there was at least one minor choice that you could only influence by importing a save (aside from the tattoo that you can get in one of the Witcher 2 quests and which cannot be added by simulating a save)..

@@electricindigoball1244 the most important one was an additional side quest including Letho (if you let him alive in W2) and then bringing him to Kaer Morhen for the fight with the wild hunt. Pretty neat i would say

ill be honest its kind of frustrating to me personally that the combat has been simplified i really enjoyed the hard learning curve and struggling it was so gratifying when i finally got good at it so i hope it is still relatively hard and complicated

I'm really glad you mentioned the audio! That was one of my biggest worries when watching the demo video. Glad to know that I won't want to rip my ears off.

I hope the modding community adds some new rare potions. Since I plan on playing with a mod so I can save any time there is not much use from alchemy except for poison/night vision potions.

I'm glad you cleared up the audio. I was convinced they crunched all the dialogue down to 12 bit to save storage space. Like they did 15 years ago.

I played so much of the first one but even after dozens of hours i still HATED the combat and did everything possible to avoid it. This is why i dropped it eventually. Doesn't seam like this one will be better because the system itself sucks.

I pre-ordered gold version of this game and I know I'll be going through everything this has to offer like I did with original. After all I myself have around 700 hours spend in it.

I think its a good idea to simplifiy the combat system, especially in the hardcore mode I had problems in getting the bottom attacks right, while having no problems getting the other attack zones right.
@Gooeygiuseppe2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think that KCD1 veterans will for sure get a good experience, and now that the barrier for entry is lowered, new players will get a hang of it too And honestly I’m not really bothered at all that they combined the bottom two sections into one, it seems like combos are gonna flow better
