great review and vids! would you recommend 82 or 90?

Thank you! It depends what you are going to do. What are your plans? Let me know and I’ll get back to you! Cheers

@@wingfoil_mallorca thank you so much! I’m planning to use it for a bit everything, mostly wingfoiling (jumping and waves) but also dockstarts, kitefoil, sup and DW. I currently have a 75 & 105 alu.. so hard to decide!!
@wingfoil_mallorca Жыл бұрын
I also had to think extra carefully before choosing mast height. I choose the 820 because I also have many things in my plans. Wing foil, DW, Dock and SUP foil. Because of all plans I choose to not go for the 900 as I was thinking it is too long for some of the disciplines. The 820 is more all round. A detail, as I previously hade the 900 alu mast, it took some time to get used to not having the extra 8 cm! ;-) I hope this can help you find your answer! Good luck!

@@wingfoil_mallorca thank you so much, yes I’ll probably go for the 82 as well.

It’s a really great mast no matter the length! You will enjoy it!!! 🔝🔝

love the axis new generation gear, would be cool if you could ever try a sabfoil kraken, even thinner mast.

Yes, great idea. I’ll try to arrange to have a go on one to find out how they are in comparison.

Nice board, thinking about getting the AXIS Froth 90L, was in the shop the other day and they said for active take off it's really good, but they noticed the foil has to be placed further forward, Any thoughts, I don't think I am ready to pay the money yet for the HM Mast will stick with the alloy for now. .
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, yes the board is nice. Maybe get one soon when the 2023 arrives? 😉 The carbon mast is a tough cookie to swallow. I agree. Sold my 1150, mast fuselage and all to chip in for the HM mast. That was a good swap. The mast is really something else. I’ve only had it a short while so I’ll be coming back with another review when I have some more mileage with it. But stiff, and you can really push harder in the jibes and tacks with it and it doesn’t give. Did I say it makes the riding very smooth!? 😂😂

Great vid, wonder if the benefits are more pronounced for heavier riders as well. I'm 95Kg and think I can definitely benefit.
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, thank you. I'd say a heavier rider than me can benefit even more with the new carbon masts. Yes, you must try one, it will blow your mind! ;-)

Thanks for this. Can you specify which fuselage you mean by "short" fuselage for us?
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Hey Erik, absolutely. Thanks for watching. The “short” fuselage is the model under their standard fuselage. It’s calle short, possibly a bit confusing. It’s about 700 mm long. Very stable and good for pumping! Where do you ride?

Does it whistle? My Axis PnG 1150 & Aluminum 75 cm mast whistles when accelerate…don’t know where in the foil, it comes from ? Do you have encountered Axis Foil whistling?
@wingfoil_mallorca11 ай бұрын
Hi, yes. I know about that this happens occasionally. Usually it is the stabilizer that make the “whistling sound”. Think about it. Did the whistling sound come when you changed stabilizer?
@tettok843111 ай бұрын
@@wingfoil_mallorca I have not changed the Stab yet..good starting point… I ll look into it later. I bought Axis PnG 1150 for learning Dock start. I ll down grade to Axis PnG 980 later for winging, now use Takuma Kujira V1. 1440 for wing up to 28-30 knots good for jumping above that not fun for me..fancy jibes & backwind (16-20 knots) are not fun when too much winds..

Nice video. It seems like the consensus is that the Power Carbon HM is really good on the bigger front wings. I have the Axis PNG 910b and ART 899 -- not sure if there is enough of difference on the smaller wings based on several videos I have watched. I weigh 65kg. Will you be reviewing the Axis Power Carbon HM mast on some smaller front wings? Also what brand of helmet are you wearing? Thanks!
@DaveSails72 жыл бұрын
I noticed a difference on my 999. The lower drag of the HM mast makes it glide even further, and I feel like I can pump further to connect bumps when winging.
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, that is what I have gathered as well. I will ride the HM Carbon mast with the 899 and see what response I get. My helmet is the Balz Pro helmet from Ensis!
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, it glides better and that is a big help in connecting bumps/waves. Thats my experience too.

Very nice video! Addictive making freefly sequences! Where on Mallorca are you riding there? Would love to come over in winter time! Will get my first axis tomorrow mainly for dockstarting. Curious how good it will be! Have fun and keep winging! Peter

Hey Peter, thanks for commenting. Happy you got something from the video. This is filmed in Can Pastilla Beach just south of Palma de Mallorca. We get nice waves here when the wind is from S to NW. Good luck with your dock start project. You will get a lot of support from the Axis gear. The rest is up to you! 😉 Let me know if you come to Mallorca!!

@@wingfoil_mallorca hey Fredric. Do you think can pastilla area would suit a beginner as well. Looking for a place where my wife who is just before getting up on foil would be happy as well…
@wingfoil_mallorca Жыл бұрын
Hey, yes. Can Pastilla is great for learning. You also have a few other spots that works. Es Caló in S’Arenal and Barcares in Bay of Pollença. All depends the direction of the wind! We are blessed with having them all pretty close as the island isn’t that big. Put it on your trip list! I’ll see you when you get here and show you the spots!

Can’t understand the following: as far as I see you changed 3 component’s at the same time, mast, foil and stabilizer, but attributes the better ride to the mast…
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
I filmed during two different rides. The first one. 1099/crazyshort fuse/325P all of I previously ride with. Only changed the mast. Second ride I also changed the fuse to the “short”. That was my regular fuse. So, only the mast was the part I was not used to. But in a way you are right I changed mast and fuse on the second ride. The stab wasn’t new to me. I still stand by the mantra “only change one thing at the time”. Hope this clarifies some details for you. If not, hit me back with another comment. Thanks for watching!

Great videos! Would you feel the difference if you went (let's say 10 times) out, not knowing what foil setup you had. I have been on various masts and foils and I don't really feel any big difference. I have done this for + 3 years and have no issues with turnings, jumping 360 and normal cruising.
@wingfoil_mallorca2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that is a good question. You would notice different setups have different characteristics, but to know if you are on an Axis foil, Starboard or Sabfoil. Could be tricky.
