It should be better and safer if you cover the red wire with white tape.

Thanks for this video. I guess my brand new timer is bad because I have it setup the exact same way and don't hear the gears turning or anything. My old one "works" but stopped keeping accurate time. I bought an exact replacement but can't figure out why it won't turn on?
