Electrician here. Always use a proper wire connector rated for the application. Always use rated conductors/wire for your incoming electric. Always remember to re-identify your neutral conductor when switching it to a 220. Lastly but most importantly, always keep your shop as clean as this guy. Great content! 👍🇺🇲

Thanks so much. I was trying to wire a booster pump for a well that was 220. I couldn’t figure out where the neutral was supposed to go and it was confusing because the motor plate labeled one of the load lines as neutral. I see now that is only the case if I were to select the lower voltage. Im glad I figured it out by watching your video. I wasn’t about to create a direct short just because of the label, but it was driving me crazy trying to figure out where to put the neutral. Thanks again for clearing the issue up for me.

Thanks Mark for the great video! I've got a 220V pump with electrical coming underground to the "pump house". It's 3 wires coming in, so two hots (red/black) and a ground (hopefully - this is a white). Is there a way to tie into this supply for a new 110V receptacle? I understood from your video that there are two 110V supplies to choose from, but I get lost a bit when thinking about tying in because of the lack of a neutral coming in. Appreciate any help!
@HallmarkPoolSupplies Жыл бұрын
I would recommend that you test the supply line with a volt meter, this way you will know what you have. Usually green is ground and neutral is white, if you are trying to go 110V you will need a neutral. If you are not sure on the hook up you can always contact an electrician. Thanks for watching.

It depends if you have 110V or 220V, you need to confirm the voltage on each wire before doing so. If you are 220V, you need two hot wires and a ground. If you are 110V, you need one hot wire, a neutral and a ground. Thanks for watching.

I just purchased a replacement 1.5hp motor. Does it matter if I run it at 110 or 220? What are the considerations?…besides what the current electrical is set/built for.
@HallmarkPoolSupplies2 жыл бұрын
Most motors can be converted from 110v to 220v, However when you wire your motor it has to be wired in accordance to the feed coming in. If you don’t know if you are high voltage or low voltage, then you can use a volt meter. If you want to change the feed you can but it also depends on the type of pump you have (single speed , dual speed, or variable speed) you would want to talk to an electrician, if not, work with what you have.
