Like those lights. Any concern using the wago type connectors in damp areas or outdoor sheds?

I am not concerned with using them in the basement. I have a dehumidifier running down there now. I wouldn’t use them in an area that they get constantly wet though. Unless they are contained in a proper weather rated enclosure.

Use 14-2 and plastic romex connectors. Quicker and easier to install, less risk of damage to romex. Put lighting on 15 amp circuits, especially with Led light fixtures. Save your 12-2 for 20 amp receptacle circuits. Thanks, Russ-J. Electrician from Oregon.

Great tip! Thank you Russ! I was extending a circuit here but if I am just adding lights in the future I will do this!

Russ, according to NEC, is everything here done to code and would pass a picky inspection? If running direct burial 6/3 on 50 amp breaker down through wall, plate, into crawlspace, down into deep ditch to run outside, does the portion from the plate to the ground have to be in conduit? If so, sched. 40 good? Thanks

Great question! What I did should pass an inspection. A crawl space isn’t really susceptible to damage so you could probably get away with not using PVC to sleeve it into the ground. However, I personally would mount a water rated junction box to the concrete and run schedule 40PVC all the way to your next location. Then pull THHN through the conduit to each JB and transition to rated wire like romex or other related wire type. The inspector would probably be happier to see that. It also gives you the ability to replace the wire without digging again

I love that you are engaged in the boat content! Unfortunately, the boat content is on hold indefinitely due mostly to financial reasons. We still have it though!

I don't know if you know or have watched Linus Tech, but you sound like him and with the hat look like him. It's not a bad thing, just an observation.

That’s not a crawl space! That’s walk space!

Take all the insulation out of the floor. Put EPS on the wall and go full "crawlspace ninja". Insulation in the floor joist, unless for noise is no good. Encapsulate and dehumidify with something besides a portable unit, and get an air duct from HVAC down there. Air quality in the home will be vastly improved.

I’m glad you brought this up! We are currently having an issue with radon, humidity, and thermals due to the basement being in this poor of shape. I will be working on a plan to remediate all of this!
