Very helpful - gave me the confidence to get out and do it. Had to use a breaker bar to shift my blanking plug then torqued adapter to 80Nm and sensors to 30Nm - no leak so far. I’d removed the sound generator so was able to use the spare hole for sensor cable. My supplied power cable plus piggy back fuse holder fly leads were just long enough to reach air vent without extra wire. The 3D printed vent insert was perfect size and I was able to drill and grommet a hole in the removable section of the vent to pass the wires through - great result, thanks for your suggestions, Mark

This was a great tutorial. I watched the follow-up and remembered that you kept the speaker wires since you spliced them to the add-a-fuse. If you cut off the splice you can replace it with a spade crimp making the add-a-fuse reusable in the future. You can replace the speaker wire with the wire type you’d like.

The 1/8 NPT is National Pipe Thread. It is completely different from a normal 1/8 bolt. 1/8 NPT is closer to 3/8 in diameter

Think it’s a good idea to use a wire loom or wire insulator to prevent the wires from being melted?! Those areas get really hot
@dSDays16 күн бұрын
@@littlepepper4370 I agree. It did cross my mind but I assumed it would be fine since it comes with the kit as is. Thinking they went with a thick enough wire to not be affected. But for reference, it’s been 2 years and it still looks good.

Ty bruv, very helpful. I installed it successfully and it's working but every time I'm starting my car it makes a really loud noise...do u know how can i get rid of this ?
@dSDays3 ай бұрын
You talking about the beeping from the gauge?
@Noah-ty6of3 ай бұрын
@@dSDaysYes exactly
@dSDays3 ай бұрын
@@Noah-ty6of to turn it off, Push and hold the button-Turn on the ignition-wait for the ceremony to finish- release button. Or You could also change the value of when it beeps. I think it’s at 10 psi by default. I lowered it to like 6. While car is on, you gotta hold the button until it flashes and then you can press it again to change the needle. Put the needle on the number you want the beep to activate at and then just let go for like a couple seconds to save it.

hey where did you get that adapter for the sensor? i cant find it !
@dSDays2 жыл бұрын
I got it through one of our local vendors here in Ontario Canada. He sources pretty much any parts we need around here. His site is Subieland.ca where some stuff is listed.

Great video! Are you going to wire in the dimmer later? If so what fuse do you tap? or do you have to splice it somewhere else?
@dSDays2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think I will want it. My gauge can switch from white to amber colour and honestly amber is perfect at night. It’s not as bright as the white. As far as I know now most people splice into the dimmer wire at the back of the head unit. It should be a purple wire. Maybe the tail light fuse/wire but I would have to test it to confirm. I will let you know if I find a fuse that works this weekend. I’m not a fan of splicing into the headunit, seems like a lot of stuff to take apart haha
@geordieis79142 жыл бұрын
@@dSDays ok mad! Yeah I don’t think I want it bad enough to splice into the radio so if there’s a fuse tap, I’ll use that but if not I’ll just live with it
@dSDays2 жыл бұрын
@@geordieis7914 tested the fuses…so I think the 10A fuse 2 spots below where the “ignition 12v” fuse tap I put is plugged into will work for the dimmer. It’s the fuse for the tail lights, so when you turn your tail lights on, the gauge should go dim. If you need a pic of which fuse I’m talking about you can dm me on IG @ds.days

@@dSDays Great thanks mate. Thats the 30% dim not the little dimming wheel isnt it. Cheers for your help!
@dSDays2 жыл бұрын
@@geordieis7914 Yea thats just one dim setting. For a variable dimming wheel type you'd need a completly different wiring method.

A year later and it’s been perfect. Prosport has been a well know name for a while. AEM has probably taken over recently. Possibly made in china but they do it well for the price.
