Daniel Hoffmann. The signal output from this unit is High beam on/off. As you correctly say the connection under the dash is to the Can High and Can Low . There is also a contactless solution available for the input signal from the can bus system that canM8.com makes.

Is the CanM8 interface the same as the Can interface dual output on your site?

Yes, it's a slightly different variant in the video to what we have now, but does the same thing.

Do you really need this product for a custom? I have a 2020 with factory bi-xenon and I just bought a splitting loom that connects between the left headlight and the rest of the loom. That gives me gives 12v on high beam.

It is true that you can pick up the High beam trigger from the rear of the headlamp. It should be a Grey wire with a brown trace on the Transit custom. It is always best to test this before you make any connections using a digital multimeter. Aaron (Lazer)

Is it connected to constant 12V and led is permanently on? What's the power consumption of the CANM8? Will it drain battery?

There's a 12v or 24v connection but the lights switch with the standard high beams as monitored through the CanM8 interface which draws barely any power, so no it won't drain your battery.

@@Lazerlamps the problem is that Canm8 continously drains about 16-17mA because of the led. This means Canm8 drsins about 12Ah a month. If I will leave my hybrid vehicle with extra small 12V battery for a month, I will not be able to start an engine after summer vacation. I think they have to do something about it.

Actually its not called High Beam And Low Beam. The canbus is data signals. So its called can high and can low.

Ford are highly against any fitting of can bus interfaces to there vehicle systems..We where sent a memo directly from Ford .
