Arrived today, very quick delivery. Had about 10 attempts without success. Get a 0 instead of 1, dont get two zeros when I should, to click from 0 to1 wont work. I am at my wits end with this. I do have a BDR91. Thank You.

Have you confirmed the tick button (lower right button) works correctly on the thermostat? You also have to ensure the BDR91 has correctly been cleared (+15 second button press) and is then is in binding mode (after the 15+ second button press let go and then press the button for about 5 seconds to get the slow flash), otherwise the thermostat won't pair to it. The procedure is relatively simple, but does catch a surprising amount of people out as they cannot distinguish between the flashes on the BDR91.

@@theheatingconsultant Had no problem with the flashing light on the BDR 19. Now you have mentioned it, I dont think the tick button is working correctly. When it is pressed to move to the next stage nothing happens. Any ideas?

@@howarddickens I’ve had this myself and it is normally one of the clips holding the PCB in place, isn’t clipped onto the PCB properly. The thermostat comes apart really easily. If you take the batteries out and look in the battery compartment there are two tabs holding the front fascia (which also holds the PCB) to the back plate. Once you have got it in half you will see 4x locating latches holding the PCB into place onto the front fascia. Normally one or two of these won’t be latched onto the PCB properly. To remedy it is as easy as pushing the PCB into them.

Thank you for this. Ordered the product hoping to pair with my BDR91, so no messing with any wires.

Had trouble pairing mine to my old BDR91 .. I changed the old 91 unit for the new one which looks the same .. Then on my 3rd attempt it binded.. I have looked online and it is recomended that you should have at least 1 meter between thermostat and the receiver .. I may have been further away on my 3rd attempt .. Just thought i would share this info as it may make a difference in some cases.. Still a great video thanks..

Echo those comments below. Clear, concise and ultimately v helpful. Thank you. Question - on my old CM 92? (with a now defective display - horrified at how much this replacement was!) It had a default 5 degrees program that was supposed to prevent pipes from freezing if you left the heating off. Does this pro unit do the same? If so, how do I set that up?
@theheatingconsultant2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Pro Series Thermostat does have frost protection and is enabled when the ‘off’ mode it enabled (and won’t let the room where the room thermostat is go below 5 degrees C). Need to bear in mind other areas of the home where the room thermostat isn’t could potentially be colder (although modern boilers have frost protection built into them too).
@theheatingconsultant2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, the Pro Series Thermostat has an 'off' feature. When this is enabled, if the thermostat detects the room air temp is heading below 5 degrees C, it will fire the relay just as the CM900 range did. You do need to be careful though, because if the room temp ever hits 5 degrees C, the pipes in the loft, etc are normally already fit to burst. I would never recommend a building to be kept lower than 10 degrees C in my experience, so you can set the thermostat to manual mode and adjust to 10 degrees C.

@@theheatingconsultant Excellent. Appreciate the advice. I shall set it when I get home.

.seemed to pair without so many steps. Previous model Honeywell cm921 Light immediately turned green and increasing temperature brought boiler on.
@theheatingconsultant Жыл бұрын
The method I have shown is the only robust way to bind the thermostat to the relay box (including clearing down the equipment correctly). If it has paired in any other way, I don't think it will remain connected or there will be transmission issues between the thermostat and the wireless relay box.
