this is so great!!! to viewers, REMEMBER if you're following the steps at 4:00 - don't forget the step in between 8 & 9: insert needle from the back between 2nd & 3rd sts (2nd knit & 1st purl)

I’ve been using this method for binding off 2x2 ribbing for several years and it really works great! Highly recommend it! It’s a variation on Kitchener Stitch so if you are comfortable with Kitchener, you should have no trouble with this method. The result is very polished and professional looking.

It looks so much better as the full sweater! Awesome pivot. It was really cool to see you adapt multiple times to make the tricky knit into something you actually love.

Thank you so much for this!! I've only seen one tutorial that shows sewing off without reorganzing the stitches to 1x1 and it was way too fast and super confusing. I especially love that you've put written instructions as well, that's really helpful!

Thank you! I've been looking at lots of tubular bind off videos for my first jumper project and they scare the hell out of me! Your tutotrial is super clear and precise! I feel much more confident in doing this bind off now!Thank you!

I can never see me doing this. I always cast off in pattern and have never had a problem with tightness or flaring. Love the vest/jumper.❤️

This couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m literally knitting the first cuff of the seamless mock neck sweater and have a few rows left before binding off!

Fab timing! I just cast off the body of the Seamless Mock Neck Sweater but it had zero stretch so I’ll definitely rip it back and try again. Thank you ☺️

You may also prefer the needle with a slightly curved tip. I find them much smoother for precision like this.

I used this "stretchy" bind-off to finish my Toe-Up socks, but I guess we have VERY different definitions of stretchy. I can barely get my foot through 😂 this will be hell to redo, but I will keep this in mind for sleeves.
@WellLovedKnits2 жыл бұрын
It’s also important to not pull your working yarn through too tightly! Good luck!
@MrsNathiSinnlos2 жыл бұрын
@@WellLovedKnits I have not pulled at it, I had it at 3,5 times of the circumference and barely made it. It is a little stretchy, but it does not give enough for my heel. But for sleeves it's great and that's what you intended it for and how I'll use it in the future. 🥰 It's a great bind-off, just not for socks, but they also need next level stretchyness 😅

isnt this technically not a tubular bind off? tubular has 2 set up rows before binding off to create the tube. i think it's more like a 2x2 italian bind off
@katiehowell88522 жыл бұрын
I've followed a tutorial for a tubular bind off for 1x1 rib and didn't have to do the two set up rows.

Hi!! As a beginner that just started knitting very recently, I love your tutorials! They are so well explained and helpful. I was wondering if you could maybe do a tutorial on how to do tapered sleeves? I was trying to modify the pattern from puffy sleeves to tapered sleeves for the sweater I'm knitting and I just can't figure this out... or maybe do you know some resources I can check out? Thank you! 😊
@lisaboyer13102 жыл бұрын
Can somebody please explain the difference between tubular and italian bind off and why the names seem to be used interchangeably? Also, great video, love that it saves having to rearrange the stitches into 1x1!! :)
