Long story, but I entered my boyfriend’s church and got saved, we later broke up and it was PAINFUL. my natural instincts were to leave, the church, the city, the state, as long as it means to not be around my ex, well I always ran away from my problems and I felt God telling me to stay where I got saved. And use Him for strength, as uncomfortable and painful it has been, I pray that I worship God by obeying Him and staying in the church he called me to be in. Praise you God

Quite a while ago as I was worshipping alone in my bedroom, playing my guitar and singing "Nothing I Hold Onto" by Will Reagan and could just feel the Spirit moving in me. To an outsider they might think I was crazy as I was rocking back and forth, cross legged with my guitar on my lap and eyes closed but it's pretty normal for me. As the song faded out though, my hands were quite jittery which is not uncommon for me but without thinking, my hands started tapping on my mouth first, and then tapping my heart. A moment later I felt the words inside me: "let the words that leave my lips be of a true reflection of my heart". It was such a cool moment especially after singing the lyrics I was which is something that still sticks with me to this day. I want that prayer to be true, that the words I speak would reflect what's in my heart, and what's in my heart to be pleasing to God. "There's nothing I hold onto." Sacrifice is hard. Letting go is hard. There's comfort in knowing that I don't have to do this in my own strength though. Not by might, nor power, but by his Spirit.

I don’t actually remember singing much in church. But I remember singing CONSTANTLY while I prayed. Especially in times I was afraid. Thank You, Father God, for always being with me. I have one daughter who is a terrible singer and I tell her regularly that scripture says let everything that has breath praise the Lord and that her singing praise is beautiful to him because it's genuine and he can tell the difference between a child who praises and one who is only singing so others will hear how pretty they sound. God knows the difference and he'd rather hear the genuine praises from a voice we think is unpleasant than the lip service from one who is prideful

hey! I’m 14 years old, and I have been struggling with worship. I’ve always loved to sing and make it all about sounding good, but sometimes I find myself forgetting it’s about God and not me. this channel really helped/helps me and gives me peace knowing Jesus is here for me. I’ve also been struggling (I got baptized this year) with giving myself all the way to God. I kinda set this boundary so I wouldn’t look weird, or I would still be like others and be God’s daughter, and I always felt like I was being attacked caring about what everyone thought about me always. and after watching this, I’m choosing to finally let go of caring about that invisible boundary to let what I learn about God go to the heart. I’m letting him love me and learning to love him. I hope you can do the same, the devil wants you to have a lukewarm heart, fight him. 💗 edit: love your enemies! thank you so much to everyone who has helped me, I remember reading the first replies and I melted, they made me cry and I am so thankful for every one of you. but the fighting and trying to make a scene needs to stop. everyone who is trying to say God is this horrible God who hates everyone or something needs to stop right now. you guys are making more drama than the 15-year-old girls at my school. so with love, stop. As someone who grew up in the charismatic church, I sometimes felt bad that I wasn’t like the other people who were loud, sang songs and danced. I just stand there and do nothing. That’s just how I am. But it’s like some of them think that worship has to be loud. Same here. And I *was* a performing songwriter with a regional concert ministry. I'm just a flaming introvert and not given to public display. I had to allow 30 minutes before concerts to deal with my stage fright. ;^) Once at a charismatic church everyone was worshiping like you describe and the Spirit compelled me to kneel and pray. There were people who tried to take me by the arms and raise me to my feet to sing, dance and clap like they were. I rebuked them and remained in prayer. It was shortly after that I quit going there because I had no witness to what they were doing - in fact I felt a bit of a check in my spirit about it. Remember the woman who washed Jesus feet with her tears and dried them with her hair? They were critical of her worship too - and Jesus rebuked them. Want a laugh? Look up a song called "Make A Way - Jack Helser (feat. Karen Helser)" - it pokes a little harmless fun at the charismatics.

Wow! I was having a really bad attitude about an on going situation in my life that often leaves me feeling hopeless. Self pity and apathy start to creep in and my heart becomes hard and resentful. My attitude changed quickly with this reminder to surrender my mind and body to serving God in this situation. 😥 It's uplifting to be reminded that in surrendering, I am worshipping God. 🥲 And in worshipping God I am drawing closer to Him. Which will give me the strength to get through this situation. Thank you Father for putting this video in my view just as I needed it. ❤

the part that really stuck with me was when you said “the one thing that Christians should be aware of is living a comfortable Christian life.” Which i something i am personally going through currently. For years I have never grasped the fact that the times where i sacrificed myself by doing good things and being uncomfortable/hurt in return was considered “true worship.” Thank you so much for answering the questions I have had for years 💗

JESUS loves you!❤ I just finished my daily devotion just a few minutes ago when I came accross this video. It helps me understand what the passages I read. Truly the Lord is looking into our hearts, we may go to church every sunday and bible study and yet our lives live differently, but the Lord won't let us live like that that's why He rebukes and corrects us because of His Love towards us. Let us be reminded of this, 1 Peter 1:18-19 "Knowing that we are not redeemed with corruptible things.......but with the precious blood of CHRIST,as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" Let us worshipped HIM in our daily lives❤❤

Great message. Very needed in this time when most of the church thinks worship is the two slower songs they sing after the three faster songs (praise) every Sunday. An entire generation has missed the true meaning and depth of blessing and life He invites us into through true worship. Worship is not a genre of music. Or, an industry or movement. It's a heart posture of full surrender to our Lord who is worthy.

Amen! I am a brother in Christ who worships in the sanctuary of the Catholic Church. This spoke so strongly to me and was a reminder of why the choir loft and instrument are in the back of the sanctuary and the tabernacle and crucifix are the central point of the worship space and during worship we do bow down not to the crucifix but to God that came down to Earth as man suffered, died and on the third day rose from the dead. Again, amen! and let us remember that today we are called to worship and pray for each other as I hope you pray for me.

I agree with you. I have been to a number types of churches until I decided to become Catholic. We have a beautiful choir, with organ and the voices of the choir. It is situated in the choir loft-where it should be. The congregants sing along with the hymnal. The non-dom churches we went to, while I initially learned a lot from the pastor, however much of music -while-modern and uplifting was not always biblical. While music can be uplifting, I go to church for the Eucharist, the body, soul, and divinity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Yes by design the choir loft with the organ is at the rear of the sanctuary so as not to visually distract from activities that are holy. The problem with contemporary churches is they place a rock band on a stage exactly like a performance in an auditorium there is no difference whatsoever. There is no altar or communion rail, and often no pulpit or ambo, the message is delivered at floor level with the speaker marching to and fro like any other performer. The East Wall with an image of Christ is gone, in its place is a conference room style display screen. In general if there is something sacred in an older church is has been removed, if you ask why you will often get a derisive reply. I have seen several newly built modern churches that actually are gymnasiums with basketball hoops on either side.@@janicefalvey2561

Worship is obedience which is better than sacrifice. Worship is letting your hands loose. Worship is crying to the lord: "You're worthy of it all , You're worthy of it all, For from you are ALL things, And TO YOU are all things, You deserve the GLORY " And we have to really MEAN IT. This is worship. Worship demands something of you. Amen. Hallelujah 🙌

Wrong. Scripture says faith without works means nothing, and works without faith means nothing. This channel is protestant mumbo jumbo. Like everything, Protestant and Anglican and Non-denominational, it is not valid only those who are Ordained are allowed to preach because preaching requires Authority God has not given all of humanity the authority because of all the contradiction that will occur as is happening now and for the past 500 years to preach therefore it is only those with Authority. That began with the Apostles and those from whom the Apostles Ordained and has continued to the present day. Everyone else, therefore, is a Counterfeit Christian, a contradiction to Christianity, a total fraud.

Thank you so much for this video! I always felt like I wouldn’t be a good Christian because I could never do what social media considered worshiping God. I feared being lukewarm and not being seen by God as a true believer because I never stood up and held my hands up as I listened to gospel music. I honestly felt lukewarm and fake trying to make myself feel something I didn’t all because society in some Christian social media made me think worship could only be done through lifting your hands up and crying to a praise song. Thank you for clearing things up for me!

I'm a new follower of Christ about a year ago and I have to unlearn what my parents taught me with some things like: we have to give our 10th (usually to the church) or we worship more when we sing to God and such. So I now know it's about humbleness, patience, submission, surrender and living out the Word with generosity. God has been changing me throughout the year and if I look back at old me, it's not such a good view and I'm grateful for God saving me from that.

Surrendering and willingness to serve God, is no overnight accomplishment; as it entails giving up creature comforts to which humans have become very accustomed, and denying one's fleshly cravings. Such self-sacrifice takes time to which to adjust by re-wiring the brain pleasure center; it took me about six months before the withdrawal pains lessened tolerably from my addiction to sin. Now, I feel victorious. Thank You God! 🙏♥️

Testimony may be visible or audible. Maybe an artist paints him and his family going for a walk, signifying the time he preached The Word of God to them or with them. Or write a song describing a roller coaster of emotions about how you felt during tough seasons in your walk with Christ. Maybe even something like caring for animals or for others because of what you've been through, witnessed, or experienced. That's what I presume how a reel testimony should be

Wow, hits the nail on the head - and really explains what is meant that we shall worship God all the time. I mean, it clearly explains that worshiping God does not mean that we have to sing around all the time (and making other people around us to think, we'd be a complete moroon). In other words, worship is an basic inner attitude, not just an action.

I wouldn't sing to my husband how much I love him. I would show him every day by my actions.I wouldn't sing to my children about how much I love them. I would show them every day the last service was calling out people who were not raising their hands and hi, and in protest, i stayed sitting with my head bowed in prayer

Thank God I saw this video. Thus, Story time! So this morning, I had the idea of worshiping before praying. To be honest, I usually pray more to God than praising and worshiping God. Because I don't know much worship songs. The ones I know are either the ones I don't know the lyrics of or the ones when I sing it, sounds really empty, like there's a very weak connection, like it's not clear. So when I sang only 2 worship songs before praying, I felt nothing, there wasn't any enlightenment. But I wasn't bothered, I simply moved on to pray. My day was going great till I saw this, and it's a big eye-opener. I hope God can forgive me of my sins, and other people's sins too, because I did WORSHIP-very wrongly So I Thank God, for you guys making this video. I keep praying for God to give me faith, enough faith to trust him and his ways and I know that I'm getting there. Baby steps, little by little. God bless you all and of course, Jesus loves you all too!! 😊❤

Years ago I visited a Calvary Chapel for a few months and I couldn't stand how they scheduled time for "worship" (i.e. praise band) and then a separate time for "the service." During "worship" there would always be people out wondering around outside the sanctuary, talking, drinking their coffees, leisurely arriving at their own time and just hanging out. It was the first of many red flags that caused me to run far, far away from that place.

Or perhaps the most healthy nothing wrong with wondering outside the sanctuary fellowshipping if you serve in the church and participate in one of the seevices...my church has 3. “Let us commend ourselves, each other and our whole lives unto Christ our God!” And the people respond while bowing “to Thee O Lord!”. This video spoke true things. This sentiment is found and expressed correctly in ancient Christian worship, found without blemish and deviation in the Orthodox Church. I was raised in evangelical rock band culture. A lot of hype and emotionalism. But I was deeply desirous to truly worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. Surrendering to the Holy Will of God is paramount and endlessly highlighted within the Orthodox Christian Faith. Ever are we at work to live a life of repentance. Ever are we recalibrating our lives to serve the Triune God. Ever are we training in righteousness. We all know that Jesus loves us. But the question is, do we love HIM?

I learnt something from my youth worship leader. Throughout my journey as a Christian, I always thought worship was when we praise God, whether it’s singing or talking to Him. But my youth leader said that songs were to remind us of what God had done for us and stirrup every emotion in our body So no, it’s not just to worship Him but to remind ourselves of how good God is. Keyword:REMIND. So yes serve Him by doing things in His will. Serve Him by making what you do in life to be done while keeping Him in mind God bless y’all :)
