How to write a CELTA lesson plan

Hi all, as requested from one of my viewers, here is a video about how to write CELTA lesson plans. There was so much more detail I could go into on a lot of these things and the video is over 25 minutes long, so I will save those for another video.

The wonderful thing about Cambridge CELTA 5 is that our tutors encourage us students teachers to share each other’s notes and work together on each of the assignments. The course is not about winning something or being better than the others but about truly learning and understanding how to teach English as a foreign language. No matter how much you pay someone to do your work for you at the end of the day if you truly don’t understand what it means to have students who have different motivations, if you don’t anticipate potential problems with students from different language groups or why would you use different types of materials, if you don’t show that you are able to identify your own strengths and weaknesses during each teaching practice nothing will help you. There’s no way you can rely on anyone’s help if you don’t put work into it. CELTA is for a good reason the most intense course that people with PhDs can’t handle and you simply can’t do anything in advance or have someone else do your work. It’s actually really screwed up that you are already putting effort into finding shortcuts rather than getting down to the business in hand and warm up that chair you are sitting on. If you don’t understand instructions such as this one, step by step like in a preschool, maybe you are on wrong course. You supposedly are going to teach people something!? Seriously? That’s why we are going backwards into dark ages. You can surely buy CELTA certificate….why even bother with anything else?
