Guide: 1) Create your chord progression. A repeated four chord progression is very common u may start in any chord u like 2) find a melody by playing the whole scale of the Key note of your choice. Play the melody while continously playing the chord progression 3) find your favorite three notes in the scale while listening your chords Be creative on this step. 4) once you have the three notes. Play that over and over with the chord progression you made. The beat, tempo, genre will come along depending on your muscial influence. 5) now create a hook line (chorus melody) by: a) repeating the step one (make new chord progression) OR b) step number 3 (keep your original progression) Thank me later

Hey there, I'm a beginner in music. I have no idea on music theories or anything. But I love to make music in FL Studio. I made 1 or 2 music using that with no music theory in mind at all. And now I'm stuck in same melody and cord progression. I have no clue what to do next or make new fresh melodies and stuff. After watching your videos, I got some inspirations. Now I'm asking youtube, WHY THE HECK YOU DIDN'T SUGGEST THESE CHANNEL EARLIER! Your a great teacher. very simple to understand, easy to pick up. But I gotta learn some at least some basic music theory. And that's ok. Love your content. Keep making them.

I’m on fl too . melody is just an the outcome .. it’s rhythms that really make or break your melody.. and a great chord progression

Music theory is important, making music without it is like trying to talk in a lenguage that you dont know how to speak So, yes, I recommend learning more about it, once you get the basics, you are gonna be a lot better :D
@ind4mnl4t0r3 жыл бұрын
@Cris well i stopped making music about a year ago. But personally, i started with dubstep and dnb kinda stuff. For me, i like dubstep music. So i picked it. Then i tried mixing genres like pop and dubstep, melodic and dubstep, melodic and horror style etc.. And i even tried retro style and dubstep too. (That one is on my channel if anyone wanna check out. It's just my 1st try, not that good btw) The thing is, pick whatever genre you like. And keep learn, practice and importantly try experimenting and then repeat. Good luck👍

Thank u very much for your beautiful and easy to learn tutorials. I've learned lots of techniques and tricks from it. I didn't know anything about piano's basics six month ago e.g Chords, Scales etc, and even didn't know how to play any melody on piano. I couldn't understand how to start as there are lots of white and black keys on piano, in short i 'm totally illiterates in music theory. But your easy techniques inspired me to take my piano again and practicing over it again and again. Now by practicing two to three hour daily after my work , i can play any melody/ song even it is English/Hindi just by carefully listening it(95%) . So thanks again "PIANOTE" and its great teachers.

Very good video. This simple exercice makes me feel good while improvising around progressions. I usually play chords in a boring manner. But you made me remember arpeggios are cool things to start a melodic line. With inversions, I can play with ascending apreggios and descending arpeggios to give more "structure" to what I'm playing. It's hard to explain (at least in English for a French woman). And then I started to add additional notes to "chain" the I V vi IV progression... Thank you for bringing pleasure back to my practice. I really enjoy your channel! Keep it going!!! :-D Love from France
