I used that before! Switched to ezcontractpro. Unlike the others ( joist, invoice2go,etc..), it's more tailored to the construction industry. My lawn guy even uses it now lol.

I like Joist, can use ir right from handheld device and the customer has the estimate/quote before I leave property. Also, they only charge if CC is used as payment, everything else is free

If you have a Buissness (“Handy” quota on quote ) license. When reporting your Income wages for the year & Paying A tax Amount. Do you personally have The small amount rom every single job piggy bank collected to be ready? - Other question I have is, If You are In the “ Process “ currently of Receiving liability Handy Insurance, & Bonds, & everything tied into To be up and running being a handymen. A customer really wants to Complete a Fence Project example, in what way or Nicely Decline or being honest in the estimate given, Contract Writtin Out, or in Person explain That to them - If They would Like to proceed with Your skills To act as a Managing person Directing small a backyard Project fence.

Hi Allen, great videos! I'm in Arizona and thinking of starting my own HM business. When you purchase items for the job, do you mark the item up on invoice to make a little profit and or do you have to charge tax? Do you collect payment upon job completion? What is the most common payment method customers use? If they use credit/debit card, are you swiping the card yourself and if so what platform are you using for that? Or are they paying online somehow, if so what site works best for you? Josh

Michael Moreno hey Michael, I’m in the same boat as you buddy. I’m semi-retired myself and just made the decision to go back for a bit to finish paying off the farm and car before I jump off all the way into retirement. I used to be a custom home builder so I’ve got the experience but this time I’m gonna only do small jobs that I can do in a few hours to a day. I think there is a huge need at least in my area anyways. I bought a F-250 last week with a service bed on it and am setting it up now with tools and materials so I can just jump in and go When I get a call. Do you use the credit card payments option of wave? If not, what type of credit card payment system do you use? I was thinking of getting a merchant account at my bank. I'd have to buy the credit card receiving machine though, but I see that there are apps that the customers can go online to pay by credit card. Thanks.

There are many different apps, Currently I only accept cash or check, So far I have never had an issue with someone that only has a credit card.

Hi Allan, have you ever used “Service Call” app on iOS App Store? It’s 10 bucks but it’s pretty good and create invoices and printable and emailing them to the customers. well just wanted your input on this app if you have used it or not. Thanks!
