How To Write A Sermon | 3 Tips For Youth Pastors

Whether you are a beginner or you’ve been preaching for a while these 3 tips will help you prepare to write your best message yet. I am no expert in this field, but I’ve had years of experience and this method has helped me preach effectively to different ages, cultures and audiences.

So helpful. Many of the ideas I’ve had myself through watching pastors is like to emulate. But your video reinforced those ideas and laid it out in a logical order for me to follow. Thanks so much for creating this. I’m using your guide to create my first sermon, I’ve titled it so far “Uncomfortable.” It’s relaying the concept that we need to be comfortable in the uncomfortable as Christians. Witnessing to friends, coworkers regardless of the worlds consequences (isolation, rejection etc). Stepping out in faith to do his work.

It's better to let God give you the foundation of the message.God knows what the people need because you can preach what you want and have a dead hurting church because your not spiritually feeding them from God. When you are led by the Holy Spirit,He might have you leave your notes on the podium and prophetically use you..

That’s amazing! I would say 1) run it by someone if you can before delivering it Thursday. 2) Focus on helping them not impressing them. 3) Get feedback from someone you trust afterwards

I’m preaching on king Solomon and how he spent his time/ money. I’m gonna take the principles from chapters 7-10 of 1 Kings and apply it to normal peoples lives. Then I’m gonna show chapter 11 and what happens when we don’t stick to those principles

What kind of videos do these people watch that don't have background music? Virtually every video has background music. If it distracts you, you're not paying attention to what you need to. This message was great, if you're trying to be a pastor and you can't tune things out, how are you ever gonna be able to preach?

It doesn't matter how much we write, how well we are informed, how many illustration we can make or how many bible reference we make. All that matters is how to connect the dots and speak spontaneously so that we don't look or sound "well prepared". One may be very intelligent but lacks the ability to talk while facing an audience. Rehearsal is a good idea though 😊
