Amazing stuff, and it's perfect he talks about "I Am the Tyrant" because that's the first Frozen Crown song I ever heard and now they are my favorite band. This song also has one of the best guitar hooks at the very end. Love it! The video is well crafted with the perfect amount of humor.

I've been wanting to write songs for a long time, started a few but never really finished them. This gave me a template that actually makes sense and I can use, and I'm anxious to give it a shot now. Thanks for the motivation! And I think it's funny by the way, how many amazing guitarists/song writers aren't as studied in music theory and such. I did study music, but I feel like my guitar playing is sub-par compared to a lot of people I see play around me personally, and most of them can't even read music, let alone can say they went to school for it. I'd love to see more videos about your guys' lyrics, and it'd be fun to see how you write the more lead-based guitar parts. I can play riffs and stuff, but just thinking about writing solos makes my head spin and I don't know how to get started with it :-/ Thanks for making videos like this, it's engaging and I love it!

I know people who can put music to my lyrics an other who like you do the music first then the lyrics come to them as they listen to the music. It's always fun to collaborate with other writers and artist. Thanks for sharing with everyone your process and good luck to you and the rest of the band in your future endeavors.
@FrozenCrown3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts! I've never worked with a lyricist so I'm very curious to know how being just a lyricist works, since I write lyrics myself but only in function of a pre-existing melody. Thanks for your support!!! :) Cheers!
@BadCowboy673 жыл бұрын
@@FrozenCrown well it's really not much different than what you do yourself. I write a song in lyrical format versus and chorus then take it to another writer/musician and we work on the musical side from there. I also have friends who write a instrumental and play it for me or send me a tape, cd, or mp3 file and I listen to it and try to put the words or a story to their music. Of course in either scenario we make multiple change to the words and music until we feel the finished song is as good as it can get. I can't wait for the new Frozen Crown album to be released. From what I've seen and heard of your work you can write a great song with any method.

Wanted to add this. As hilarious as that common mistake was, I think guitarists (or "songwriters") fall into that trap because of more famous hard rock/heavy metal singer/guitarist combo songwriters and they just assume the guitar player hands the singer a guitar part and expects the singer to come up with something. I imagine this works for some people but a lot of times its the singer hearing something the guitar player plays and gets inspired to write something for it. Adrian Smith says this happened alot with Bruce Dickinson. There's also the fact that some guitar players, even if they aren't the singer, have the vocal parts in mind that a singer can work with. Glenn Tipton comes to mind. Yes Rob Halford writes vocals and lyrics most of the time, but often times Glenn comes up with fully finished songs on his own (The Ripper, Hell Bent For Leather).
