This is amazing!! I have played violin a lot in the past but it’s been too long so I wouldn’t consider myself a violinist sadly😢 But I really want to get back into music and maybe even create something of my own. I want to do more content creation and music is one small avenue that I might want to try and the video helps out a lot! I also love video games and battle scenes and triumphant themes so if I come out with any songs it would definitely have some progression like minor to major chords. Thank you so much!!!

Brand new to the violin and playing music in general but this sounds like fun. My story, husband and wife fighting, with husband's "voice" on the G and D strings and wife's "voice" on the A and E strings, starting out loud and fast and getting softer later on as they come to a compromise and make up.

I love this video! Thank you for walking through how to make a song. I also love instrumental pieces and this was really helpful and insightful! I definitely hope you make more videos like this. I also kind of hope you do like a day in the life type video of how you make your original songs from start to finish one day. Also you are such a great teacher and violinist. Thank you for inspiring and teaching how to hone musical creativity!

I had a lot of musical background (vocal, piano, violin, music theory, choral performances, and theatre performances) in my youth and the art of song writing always eluded me although I could physically write down notes and stanzas on paper. Writing songs was a pipe dream for me. I don't see myself composing where I am now in my life, but I still watched every minute of your video because I found it so interesting. It's the first instruction I ever had about the break down of song writing! If only I saw this video and had the software of today 30 years ago! LOL. I also write stories. And what I picked out of this was that song structure also follows the same structure commonly used in writing whether it's a story in book form or movie form. I am particularly drawn to music (instrumental and lyrical) that follows the story structure: Intro, beginning, conflict, climax, resolution, ending. Thanks for this video! I hope you do more!

I strongly recommend taking classes (as I do). Violin is not an instrument you can learn AND be good at by watching YT videos.

Love that your early inspiration is a lot like mine. I used to kind of hate that people thought my music sounded like video game music. Now I take it as a compliment. Thanks for sharing your process.

WOW!!! I subscribed to you almost 10 years ago back when you had less than 10,000 subs.. (Has it been that long already) Back then I was searching for Promentory from Last of the Mohicans, and stumbled across your channel.. Congratulations to you Taylor on generating almost 3 million subs.. Great Job.. Keep up the good work..

The explanation in the emotion as a development process in your own song was so cool! It really does give the song more spirit. I wish it were in a video game! Someone pay for these songs to be in your game!

Hello Taylor Davis .I love the tone of your Violin. I actually composed a song called 'Fall into hope' using your tone via Native instrument software . Its in my youtube and Spotify . Just wanted to let you know .. Glad i found you in the youtube and digital music space. Thanks for this video ! .. Very helpful . If you listen to that song by chance , your violin tone starts just after 1 minute mark ...

I really enjoyed hearing your story behind Legendary Guardian. It always reminded me of video game fights, but it’s interesting to hear what you visualized as you wrote it. This video has given me a little perspective on practicing music. As I struggle through learning a piece that has been more difficult than I had anticipated, I think I’m just going to remember that at least I don’t have to write it.

This is such a wonderful video! So interesting to hear how you approach writing a song! It would be so intesting to see how you approach orchestrating your song, once you have got the basic melody/chords down! 😃🤗🙏🏻

Great video! 😊 I've composed around 7 years now and I still fell starting a new song is as tough as it was when I started composing 😄. Tip is that don't let your thoughts overwhelm you and just start working on the song.

Taylor, I followed an email from you to this piece and it let me know how much I missed your music! I first listened when you were still single and somehow life got in my way and I lost your music, I have two email addresses and rarely check one that receives your mail. I love your music and you to be sure. Hello, GB

BTW - wanted to point out that I noticed and loved your violin solo in The Witcher 3 - Hearts of Stone DLC soundtrack. That was so amazing that CDPR included you in their masterpiece of a game. I can remember the exact point in the story where I heard it too. :)

Taylor - I notice you lean your head to your left when making or finalizing your points verbally, which of course is a subconscious mimicking behavior that mirrors your violin playing. Have you ever tried holding your violin on your right side? Yes, I know it means reversing everything. It may untangle an entrenched left side habit and reduce neck pain.

I've written a lot of Cthulhu Mythos filk but only a couple of completely original songs. Unfortunately, playing no instruments my original songs end up to be sung a capella or as poems. Thanks for all of the tips in this video.
