Such an amazing video. Genuinely insightful and comprehensive. Thanks doc. I searched for published audits using google and google scholar but I couldn't find many published audits. Where's the best place to get access to published audits ?

Yes I have a medical coding certificate and MA degree in HCA but want to become an medical auditor. Good info. I work at hospital with many interns who documentation skills are lacking despite the Encoder templates help. Sometimes they do not realize clear documentation helps a skillful medical coder. Add future info on measuring the social determines of homelessness or mentally ill or Alzheimers, patients who do not comply with medical instructions or noncompliant. Or patients who have medical history with the influence of military veterans or immigrants or children raised in foster care or children who are autistic. The insurance payers want this data and so does HA and CMS agencies. Yes need to add complications or chronic conditions of patient linked with certain payers or certain medications

Really enjoyed this video!! Wanted to ask how students could perform audits at hospitals without an audit office? Would an ethics review committee be the next best thing?

In the UK they pretty much all do. Sometimes more difficult to find in smaller hospitals. Ask any of the junior doctors on the wards. They all have to do them so will know where the office is! You don't need ethics for most audits.

Hello! Thank you for this video! This was really informative however i wanted to know whether is it necessary to have your audit topic relevant to the subject of training you intend to get into? For eg. If i aim to get into core surgical training, is it okay to do an audit in cardiology?
