But what if you are applying to do a course that is not naturally linked to your a levels like finance?

I think the advice is still the same - perhaps even more need to make the link between your a-levels and the course you're applying for as it may not be so obvious that you are prepared. Of course if you have other work experience that is particularly relevant you might make that section slightly larger, but I wouldn't change the structure dramatically here.
