Really great tutorial! Personally speaking, I've always been a visual kind of person at heart. When I start creating a comic, I'd draw numerous ideas as much as I can to get the whole idea of the what the story's about, before moving on to the writing stage. But that's my method. Keep up with the good work! 😁👍
@comicsforbeginners7 жыл бұрын
If your method works for you, great! I definetely think there's value to sketching out your ideas to get a visual grasp on the story too, before you start writing a script. What I try to warn people of is starting to draw finished pages before you know where it's going. Having at least an outline increases your chance of finishing with about 200 percent. Thanks for your comment!

@comicsforbeginners6 жыл бұрын
Hi T-Rex, you can either use a blue colored pencil (which I have) or convert your sketch lines to blue in Photoshop (add new layer, mode: color, fill layer with light blue). Regular color pencils (which is what I use) can be bought anywhere in any color. No special tools required!

@seraphywang46384 жыл бұрын
Blu Spy Start with a basic shape like a circle. I recommend studying reference photos of heads and examine how they work. Just the general gist. For a consistent character design try to scale the character properly and solidify what the body proportions. Make a concept design by making the front, side, and back of the character or object. Line up the portions with a ruler so you can get used to the character or object.

Sir, my question is can we take pictures from the internet without drawing them and make our own comic by using our story?
@comicsforbeginners3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use images lifted from the web, no. Certainly not for any commercial purposes! If it's a school project or a private thing I think it's all right, but as a rule of thumb images are copyrighted. There are a few royalty free photo sites like pixels.com where you might find something useful/legal but you can't just take stuff from Google image search.

Good enough for what exactly? Look at Gary Larson or Marjane Satrapi, both very succesful and none of them very "good" artists. It's all about what you can do with whatever talent you have. Hi, I'm struggling to figure out what genre my story will be. ( I usually do have this problem because genres do seem to mix, but it's still hard to clarify the main genre). It's basically a girl trying to find her parents to find out more about a genetic disorder she has which nobody else (except possibly her parents) has to help her save and live her life with this disorder. She does have to hire a dectechtive to help her find them, but mainly she's on her own with this. Would it be classed as a detective or crime genre, or something else, please if anyone can help me. Great Video! Really appreashiate your work both on KZbin and in comics!!! XD

Medical drama? Embellished modern day fiction? Melodrama? Mystery or thriller? Sounds interesting, but yeah, I can see where that's hard to classify. I'm lucky that my story's easy (dramedy high fantasy XD )

As it is since a week my mind is high on violent fantasies as I am making sketches first then buy the proper pencils sketch book after Sketch book like never before, I do think motivation is the biggest concern before you dedicate yourself to this form of art ( although mine is very gritty ) I just go by particular movie scenes but work them out differently a good way for that is to create your figure and see where he/she fits last thing don't get discouraged or if anything try to work that depression in the form of an antagonist for example, you think your hero is too much of a rip off so you create a gang or murder club to have him killed like in many storylines you're the one in control you can dwindle it down or top it up a notch
