As someone who is in college getting a STEM degree and who also plans on teaching science in the future your videos are beyond helpful for reviewing basic chemistry. Your specific knack for visual learning has been essential for me when I was taking my first chemistry class in college. When everything seems to move so quickly in college, I am grateful I can slow down and focus on the essential lessons with your videos. The detailed notes that you sell were the envy of all my classmates. I even refer my peers who I help tutor to watch your videos. I use your style of teaching to help myself break down complicated material in my higher STEM classes. All I can say is thank you and that you are an inspiration to me. You are the kind of teacher I hope to be in the future. Please never stop making these videos because they make a world of a difference to the students who struggle with basic chemistry concepts and who need good visuals to learn.

So you were in a college pursuing a stem degree without knowing how to balance a chemical equation? Due to online school, I am also lacking a little bit, I am in grade 12 clearing up my concepts, but damn my guy you defeated even me

Hi, I've only have one question. Your videos are primary made for pupils in high school? I am asking, because I am not native english speaker (I am from small country in eastern europe) and I want to know if chemistry education in my country is in the same level as level that your videos are making for. Thanks. P.S. Sorry for my gramatic mistakes (if I have it there) and I hope that you will understand what i mean. Have a nice day.😁

My videos are for any grade it just depends on what you’re learning. Sometimes what you learn in high school you repeat in college so don’t focus on the level focus on the topic you are learning and find a video for it. Good luck!

If u have and an equation like : Mg + 2HCl gives rise to MgCl2 + H2 We should write like 1 mole of magnesium reacts with 2 moles of hydrochloric acid to give 1 mole of magnesium chloride and 1 mole of hydrogen Note : it is not necessary to specify how many moles unless asked

Okay but can you help me with mine? because my teacher said that some of the gases react with themselves, like chlorine the problem I’m struggling with is “Aluminum metal reacts with copper(2) chloride to produce aluminum chloride and copper metal” so would chloride be c2
@melissamaribel
@melissamaribel 4 жыл бұрын
Gases are written as O2 or Cl2 etc when it says chlorine gas, or oxygen gas, not when it is after a metals name. When 2 names of elements are placed together that is a compound. Copper(II) chloride is a compound same goes for aluminum chloride so no it is not Cl2. I highly recommend going over naming compounds and writing chemical formulas first because that's where I see the problem is. Watch this short playlist first then this question will make more sense: Naming Playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLytGGifnD9dUvKu7wvEZG5t2gWk7QhM6l

Melissa Maribel okay, so what you are say is that since it is together as an ionic compound copper chloride would just be written as cucl and you don't have to balance the charges with each other since copper has a charge of 2 and cl has a charge of -1, is my equation balanced then?
@melissamaribel
@melissamaribel 4 жыл бұрын
You always have to balance the charges of ionic compounds meaning the charges need to be the same number just opposite signs. This video shows you how to do this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJrNk2mLgtuNq6c
