Another tip, the kick is mainly going to want to Follow the main accents as the bass guitar, it helps to make the drums less out of place, if you want a fill, there’s 2 kinds: linear and non linear, linear is where you play one note for every 16th note, for example the first fill in the video, that’s linear, but you can add kicks in to split up the arms, as for non linear, the kicks and flams (arms hitting slightly out of time to give a bigger sound, but sounds like 1 big hit) are what usually add more beef to it, linear fills are for more technical sounding fills, whereas non linear can be if you want a really heavy pre chorus or something.

What if there is no bass guitar?

@@leaveitorsinkit242 it depends on how much you already have of the song. I would recommend at least having an idea of a Bassline or something, but if not, you can just put in some filler beats or something and then when you have a bass part just sync up the kicks with it.

Or just use EZ-Drummer. It has tons of drum samples you can edit as you want in every BPM you need. Make Multitracks to EQ each part of the Drum. It´s great!

That's a really helpful video, thankyou so much bro. I have a question to ask.. Suppose my song is in C#min So how am I supposed to programm my drums, i.e. snare tuning, bass drum and cymbals tuning??
@TheMusicLab
@TheMusicLab 3 жыл бұрын
Ok, so think about how a real drummer on a real kit would do it.. To put it simply, they don't tune their kits to the key. They will tune their kit to get the tone they want and then that will be it for every single song. Luckily, percussion doesn't need to be tuned to the key to work!

@teddydingsdale

Most DAWs (music making programs like Logic, Ableton, Garageband) include MIDI drum kits. For example, in Logic and Garageband (GB is free and the drums come with it!), you can get them by creating a "Software Instrument" track, changing the sound to one of the drum kits in the Library on the left side of the screen and then playing in your beat using either a MIDI keyboard or your computer keyboard! You can also write them in using your mouse). :) I'm so bad at explaining but hopefully this makes sense.
