How to Write for Video Games (Basics for Visual Novels & Otome Games)

Back in uni (I studied software engineering), I had to teach a class of middle-schoolers the concept of conditional programming (Basically, this means if X happens, do Y, else do Z). I decided to make it more interesting for them and created a similar type of game, but it was text-only and in a medieval kind of setting. Starting the game, you would choose your class (Warrior, Mage, Thief or Queen), which would result in a different story being told. In each of these stories, each subsequent decision would again take the story towards a completely different path. In the end, creating just a few minutes of story took me hours upon hours of writing. Each individual story was super short and definitely needed more content, but on the bright side, when you restarted the game, you had more than a hundred new stories to explore. So, I want to put more emphasis on what Brandon said. Keep your story branches simple, stay in school and don't do drugs

i bored out after 6min and i didnt find any usefull informations in the topic in this video. It's more like a basic dorian tutorial, repeating the decision loop over and over for 10min ...
