How To Write Notes in Ableton

no, actually, what Ableton needs to address is how to add individual notes per track. So, for one small example: If i put a high pass filter on my drum track and I want to quick remember multiple edits to a particular track, say on multiple plugins, if I could quickly write down a note, saying 'kick - HP @45Hz' for example and etc. I don't always want to have dig into my setting and plugins per track to see my settings. A quick note per track would allow me to make notes to myself to edit shit later on, or understand quickly why something sounds the way it does. you are the first thing I googled and found, so you got the worst of my complaint. but your video? per song? yo, super easy. BTW, I just figured it out. Right click on the top of your track banner. then select 'Edit Info Text'. the box in the bottom left corner will open up empty and you can add info there. so, the next time you click on the that top banner of each track, any notes, ANY, whatever you want to add, will show up there. done.

I see what you're trying to do, but this edits the info text for ALL of the instances of the subject if I remember correctly, So writing down notes on an EQ Eight on one project with specific pointers would show up on a different project with a different EQ Eight. Unfortunately, there's no proper way to write notes other than the Notepad Max For Live device that I featured in the video to my knowledge, and if you don't have M4L the next best thing could be to create a notepad file in the folder of the project if you really need to jot things down. I hope this helps!

I think the longest method of taking notes in Live thats stuck around with me though is editing info text, especially on locators. And in doing so ill usually add a 📝 emoji in the label to make it stand out lol

Oh yeah I can imagine how much that'd take on the screen too, and that's what I first thought of too before I used this method. Thank goodness I didn't even attempt to do it with locators back then lmao

Ooo i gotta try that M4L notepad, thanks for sharing! I was using MNotepad for a while, til i discovered you can keymap the wrench icon since one of the Live 11 updates, whereas I then started using Image-Line Notebook instead cuz it doesnt override your cursor when popped up lol. Unfortunately though it cant be used on my macbook, so a device like this would be slick! (And considering its confined to the track its on, i could just keymap to focus the device/track in view)
