Hey, quick question. On the RA rubric, to earn the thesis point students are supposed to name the rhetorical choices. If they do the more sophisticated thesis that is more open, will that technically still count?

It will count as long as you bring more to the thesis than what is revealed in the prompt. This video is probably better for you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWncdZeAiNiejdU

Hi Tim! I’ve already watched your video on the breakdown of how to earn the sophistication point, but I was just wondering: if I provide the broader historical context of the letter/speech throughout my rhetorical analysis essay, would I earn the sophistication point? I’m asking because I am taking APUSH, and I am GREAT at contextualizing. If I could earn sophistication that way, it would be very convenient for me. Thanks!
