I am not quite sure about saying that witches never lied, because they said that Banquo is the father of kings, but at the end we see that it was not true. That surely can be true in future maybe his grandchildren or his son will become the king by marrying someone from royal family, but still there was no information about it in the play.

Supernatural: A central theme in the play He uses this theme to play on peoples anxieties, especially King James, Central theme, uses this to reveal our kerupting influence/mindset The witches, who are the core characters, used as aidence of chaos, Also disrupts the natural order, presented as devilish, go against god, and kill his representative, reveal half truths, example ' no man born of woman can harm macbeth ' .... kills him cuz c section. Speak in oxymoron to demonstrate they are agents of chaos, shakespeare represents king James fear through macbeths paranoia, they spark wicked thoughts and actions but also intense guilt and remorse. They experience hallucinations, dead ghost of banqueo, lady macbeth hallucinates blood on her hand. The witches trigger ambition in lady macbeth herself. She wants to retain power, many jacobean people were led to call her the 4th witch

I’ve been told that we don’t need to use context at all in Macbeth, so we haven’t learnt any. Do you actually need to apply context in order to get a high grade or can you achieve it without?
