Thanks for this info! I am recording some long events, which my camera parses into a handful of large files/clips. Since the camera doesn't change position or even stop recording between clips, how can I apply the exact same crop/zoom from one clip into the next, or apply the same crop/zoom to multiple clips at the same time?
@mjbuhr645 жыл бұрын
I came here with the same question using version 17, but I have used various other versions for years. The best workaround I have is to set the zoom to a specific percentage and lock it in with keyframes at the start and end of the clip. When I go to the next clip, I set the same percentage and line up a corner or two on something recognizable from the end of the previous clip. Would be so much easier to be able to do this by selecting multiple clips at once.

Another great teaching! Thankyou. Not sure if I would ever need to use it, but if it came down to using or losing a scene, it would be a life saver. As for you people with the negative comments, think about what your doing with a digital zoom. Eventually, it spreads the pixels, and decreases sharpness. A lot of things in this is give and take. PDP is the least expensive, most powerful, and biggest bang for your buck. Or, go take out a "mortgage" on Final Cut Pro and take the rest of your life to learn it. Jeeesh

can I crop an entire video without zoom effect from start to finish ?
@phils46347 жыл бұрын
In effect yes. Create two keyframes, one just a few frames after the other, and zoom to your intended crop level (degree and position). Save, then delete the initial "un-cropped" element. I've tried this (PD15) and it works for me. NOTE: You WILL lose resolution, so it's best to ensure your original video source is pretty high-res. (e.g. 4K), and be as minimalist in your cropping as possible, otherwise image graininess becomes noticeable.

Maljek I have good news for you I'm going to tell you exactly how you can customize your window panes in power director. First detach the windows you want to move around In my case all I wanted was the preview window on the left. So very simple, I put my preview window on the left and the library to the right. I left the timeline exactly where it was. Now carefully align your panels so they're exactly the way you want them Hit the x in the upper right hand corner. Of course it will ask you if you want to save your changes click yes. Then I believe it asks you to name that. In my case I named it customized power director. I shut it all down open it back up it was customized just the way I want it each and every time. Give it a try see if it works for you. Keith Kuhn I love your channel and your energy.

I have started messing around with lowering the background noise and adding in my own background music. But I am a little confused on weather i should be lowering the dB from within PowerDirector or using these WaveEditors. Also having to go to each individual clip and lowering the dB manually makes me think there must be an easier way that i could reduce all the clips to the same sound level without having to do each clip at a time. Thanks Again.

@PDU_Tutorials9 жыл бұрын
+Tim Mackey You can use either one. If you are going to add extra effects use this method, if you will not add extra effects use action camera center.

what software did you use to do this video tutorial? Do power director 16 have highlight feature like you use in this video at minute 2.05?

Hello Maliek, I'm using PowerDirector 365. I want to perform some zooming in my video but for some reason the keyframe marker options (add keyframe, etc) are greyed out and don't appear until I'm into about 35 seconds of the video. I need to be able to add a keyframes to perform some zooming starting at about 5 seconds into the video. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong but I'm totally lost. Can you please help? Forgot to mention, I don't have a "Power Tools" option as you show in your video but I'm assuming that simply because the technique your performing applies to PowerDirector 14. Thanks Ed
@PDU_Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Power Tools was in the older versions. You should have the option to add key frames from the beginning. Unfortunately I'm not sure why you don't. Try asking on the PowerDirector forum. Maybe they can help.

can powerdirector crop slice in different shapes and angles ??? like in a triangular shape ???
@PDU_Tutorials7 жыл бұрын
No. You can try applying a Mask of a shape and seeing if that works for you. Also try unchecking "Maintain Aspect Ratio" and see what kind of adjustments that lets you do.

Is there a way to set a crop/zoom as a template or a preset to apply to multiple different clips? Don't want to have to guesswork it by mouse each time lol.

Not that I'm aware of.

In the latest version of Power Director 365 the Keyframe feature is missing so I can't zoom in as you describe. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this now. This is a huge omission. I hope you have a solution in a future video.

Your tutorials are better than the one I paid for. I do notice that some of the 15 tutorials use some different directions than 14. Like "designer" instead of "motion". What's up?

I bought the media suite 15 that is suppose to include power director 15 but it is restricting some of the functions. I was not aware it would do this or I wouldn't have bought that package . How do I get the full function of power director 15?
@PDU_Tutorials7 жыл бұрын
I don't work for CyberLink. The Media Suite page doesn't even specify which version of PowerDirector you will receive. The only way I know that you can get the full version is to purchase it.

I have a question about cropping images on PowerDirector. In the "Crop Image" window is it possible to alter the crop borders to go at an angle to focus on areas that you want to crop that are not in a square/rectangle?
@PDU_Tutorials5 жыл бұрын
Nope but you can do different cropping using Mask Designer

This is a very informative video. Thank you! Question, is there a way to speed up the zoom? Like in a split second. Example: like in the movie Kill Bill, the zoomed in to Beatris Kiddos eyes before they play the intense siren music and the double image video(opacity).
@edecibeledecibel87208 жыл бұрын
+edecibel edecibel oh, maybe, i can that split frame and within the new split clip have the zoom start closer to the beginning. if there is a better method, please do tell.
@PDU_Tutorials8 жыл бұрын
+edecibel edecibel Thanks. You can make the zoom as fast as you want by using moving the keyframes close together. If the clip is too long, split the clip so it is smaller and then place the keyframes close and it will zoom in even faster.

Hey Maliek ... I love your tutorials ... many thanks for sharing. Zoom and Quality.... When I zoom in to about 1/5th of the screen size, the quality drops. The video gets all lined. Then it gets even worse when I rotate it by 180 degrees (I filmed with an upside down camera mounted on the ceiling), and even worse when I speed it up by 100 times... and this is the quality after producing. I followed all your wise advice from the Quality tutorials as well. Is it just that I loose quality with every special effect, or is there a secret tip on how to maintain quality?
@PDU_Tutorials7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my tutorials. Quality of produced videos should not decrease based on added effects. If you followed my HD quality tutorial and you are losing quality you should check with CyberLink support or ask for help on the PD forum.
@Mut08157 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes I did and I guess zooming in that close simply reduces quality. Their advice was to zoom in with the camera, not the software ... Keep up the excellent work ... and many thanks.
@Mut08157 жыл бұрын
Thanks ... I checked and my camera is not good enough to zoom in that close :-( One more question ... Currently I make an edit to the video, then produce. Then take the new MP4 and apply an edit to that and then produce again. Then take the new new MP4 and do the same again. This simplifies all the edits and overlays, and PiP this and that ... is that a good idea? Or am I creating major problems for myself?
