Notice how David Olusoga misses out the important bit - The relentless grafting of the Scottish working classes; men, women and children: all working long, long hours in atrocious, non-unionised conditions; living in overcrowded, unsanitary slum housing; with no health care, no education and no vote. This is what built Glasgow; strange he should choose to miss this out; I wonder why?

Are being deliberately obtuse, or just being stupid. It is plainly obvious that the theme of the piece was, about the slave trade, and what riches it brought those who exploited, and benefitted from it, with particular reference to the Glasgow merchants.
