Otani's home run last night projected at 4:43 I know for a fact

Can't statcast project the distance not where it hits but where it's going to land.I know that the ball of tiny hit to left field at 1 1 8. 8 miles per hour hit right below the Tony gwynn sign then drop 3 to 4 storys down just above the second deck is that why it only measured 443. Surely if there were no decks there or part of the park play Bollywood landed elsewhere at 118 mph it seems it would have traveled at least another 60 ft at least.. so what was the projected path of the ball at 118 mph

Love it man keep it up. Quick question. At what point do you have to look past some sabermetrics and focus on actual performance. For example, Gary Sanchez had an average exit velocity of 90.3 but only batted .186. You have to bench him right?

Thanks for the kind words, Jake! In response to your question - when analyzing a player you’re right, you should look at more than just exit velocity. Yes, Sanchez did have a down year (around all of the injuries) - but he still showed off solid plate discipline and elite power numbers for a catcher. I’d anticipate him to bounce back this year if he is able to stay healthy.
