It's the best for winter! I grow it in the yard, I crop it in october, then I put it in jars after I mix it with vinegar and honey. It's exquisit!

Being from close to Nuremberg I remember my grandmother growing it and us kids picking it. There was a horse radish salad she used to make that was incredibly tasty 😋

In Japan there's something similar called yama wasabi (mountain wasabi). You can buy it in supermarkets, usually in winter. Add a bit on hot rice, very delicious.

I grate half a small horseradish and I can't breathe. I don't even want to imagine the air in that processing plant. I can't blame the lady in that old footage wearing a gas mask.

a small, closed food processor is your friend here. Brush it mostly white, cut to fit, and add a little water to help it blend. Blend until smooth. Don't add any vinegar until it 'blooms' into just the amount of heat you want, then add the ground h and some vinegar to a small glass container and refrigerate. It'll stay flavorful for about two months.

@@DWFood For the next edition of the video, you should talk about other uses of Horseradish. Most of the common 'wasabi' that is used in Japanese restaurants around the world is Horseradish with green food coloring. So many people are getting horseradish and wasabi so mixed up and it is skewering people's preconceptions of what is what and etc.
