This might seem irrelevant to you but there's a tree (don't know species) whenever I pass from under it... flowers of that specific tree fall on me if there are any on it, I used to water it when I was a child, now many have grown around it, but I remember the one I used to water it's the old one among them.

Actually, Avatar took the idea after the writer read about published papers by scientists / Botanists / Molecular Biologists studying these network before they were well known. One of the scientists who studied this went to see the movie and was like, Wow, they read my paper. 😊

this is not the same as sentience, since achual feelings are not proved, just reactions created by instinct and nature itself, it is not a fully conscious being. knowing if its hurt is the immune system' in the trees, not achual hurt. the speaking is not much speaking, just signals from trees, knowing if some need sun og giving, since it helps the trees in nature, it doe snot only help one but all to give and take. trees do all this by nature, not by feeling compassion og sadness for the other part. In conclusion, trees should not be seen as a sentience 'being' since consciousness is not an actual thing for trees, and they do all things by their nature, not form feelings of compaction or happiness as humans and some animals may/can do.
