Normally it’s more simple as using campaign fundings for family dinners and such but those aren’t significant enough to potentially impact results of elections. The legal basis behind the trial is super dubious too. I think the state of New York is charging Trump on a federal crime of improperly tracking campaign finance, which hasnt been done before. Beyond that, Trump was never even charged with this crime at the federal level, and crime is classified as federal misdemeanor that New York State elevated to a felony. Beyond that, as a federal misdemeanor crime the statute of limitations would have already passed, but New York State conveniently extended the felony statute of limitations so that Trump can be charged. The legal hoops you need to jump through to get this case to trial seems insane to me

TBH...I have yet to hear how this actually affects him, or slows him down. He is likely not going to prison from what I heard. He still got a platform to talk after the trial and spit his predictable victim rhetoric. It still seems that he's able to run for president. And despite people saying that maybe people won't vote for him now... I believe the people who were going to vote for him are still going to. Maybe even moreso.
