Great video. Really hope Tua is able to stay away from those concussions. Flores was a really good defensive mind, but with the turnover he had at offensive coordinator it was time to look for someone to supplant him to and McDaniel was an awesome choice. It’s pretty wild that after a really good year that Tua might be the 4th highest ranked QB from the 2020 draft class. Just goes to show how historic that years class can be. Shoot… we might even be talking about that QB class in a greater light if Jordan Love shows some good promise in his first year as the starter.

I really like Flores, good coach, his problem is a problem a lot of defensive coaches have, creating an environment for good offensive coaches. It can be done, Nick Saban in college and of course Bill Belichick. Too many defensive coaches want to still win games with conservative offensive play calling, short fields, let their defenses win games, but it's so hard to win a championship that way now days. Hopefully he grows from this because he took some really underwhelming Dolphins teams and over produced so the coaching talent is there.

I honestly don't think he's the fourth best in that class but I'm bias. Herbert gets all of praise for his physical traits but he lacks some of the processing needed. I mean you could fuse Tua and Herbert together you'll have the best QB of all times.

Concussions are something that can't be predicted. No player is more likely to get a concussion than another player, other than the fact that they play positions that more often lead to concussions. Now, players who have suffered them in the past will have more severe consequences after each successive concussion, but the new helmets are designed to reduce the likelihood and severity of head injuries, so along with hopefully better protection from the O-line, and more consistent use of the running game, it should bode well for Tua avoiding these types of injuries. Unfortunately, the NFL is a violent sport, and there are a lot of ways players can get hurt. For some reason, the media focuses on Tua's injuries far more than other QBs like Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow (both of whom have missed more games due to injury than Tua since he was drafted)... but the reality is simply that (a) there is no such thing as "injury prone," and (b) injuries can happen to any NFL player, and eventually, probably will. Hopefully Miami can avoid the extent of injuries they suffered last year... not just to Tua, but all around.

Tagovailoa really just needed the pieces to fall into place for him. He always had the ability, but he wasn't presented w/ the proper tools to do the job. Now that the scheme and passing concepts play to his strengths, and the receiving talent has been upgraded, he's flourishing. He always threw one of the prettiest balls I'd ever seen in all my years watching the game. His touch on the ball is remarkable, as is his ability to read/process coverages, as you noted in your video, and I think that this really separates him from other QBs in the League w/ roughly his same skillset. I also think that it's why he'll surpass other young QBs that people are high on, such as Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts, and others. His ability in areas that can only be taught to a certain extent will be the difference maker for him, and as long as he's able to stay healthy, he'll be a top QB for years to come.

That first play you broke down, Tua hitting Waddle in area Hamlin vacated.... Tua held his view right at at Hamlin - till the very last 10th of a second, then he looked at where the threw the ball. So he didn't just read that Hamlin came down, he also kept him there with his eyes.

Well, you're right about Tua being a great evaluator of defense, and playing to the strength of his limitations. I just wanted to point out that the Miami Dolphins team record in all of Tua's NFL career was above 500. 2019 record: 10-6, 2021: 9-8, and 2022: 9-8 and a playoff appearance. We all know that his first season he didn't start the season, but he had an ok qb rating. Tu'a's stats were 2020: 1814yds, 11td, 5ints, 2021: 2653yrds, 16tds, 10ints, 2022: 3548yrds, 25tds, 8int. These stats were pedestrian compared to his draft class, but average and not great, despite him not having an O-Line, a subpar arm, and a coach, but the good thing is he has improved in the right system. You can look like this also, that you can have the right system and personnel, and if he didn't put up the numbers then that would only tell us that he can't play football and he sucks. I don't think he ever lost confidence, because with everything that was thrown his way with the Lamar Jackson trade rumors, a coach that didn't believe in him, and all the Tua haters, and him not having a strong arm did not weaken his conviction that he can play. This man kept at it. As Tua said, that none of the media, naysayers, and haters are on the field, and he pays no attention to them speaks confidence and firm that he can play despite everything that has happened. His yrd average in his first two season was largely due to a poor offensive line, and had to make due with what he had. If you tell me, that's pretty smart. The way I see it, Tua had to dump it off quickly because he would of been murdered. Maybe early in his career he would of had more concussions if he didn't dumped it off. Tua has a decent O-Line now, a very good supporting cast around him, the right system and a coach that believes in him. The sky is the limit. I'm not saying that Tua is greatest QB ever, but he is efficient and can play the game regardless of his limitations. Even if he doesn't have a cannon of an arm compared to the other gunslingers, he has proven everyone wrong so far. So, it wasn't that he was horrible and lost confidence, but that he has been steadily learning and improving throughout his NFL career.

The dolphins need stability at LG and RT and run the ball more there was a lot of games where they ran it down a teams throat and then just decided to stop. Tua needs to check the down ball more and stay healthy.

This is why when people hate on Daniel Jones I think it's just ignorant. His processing isn't as good as Tua but his arm strength is better than Tua's. Under a good coaching staff he put up decent numbers with ZERO WRs and a faulty pass protection. Now that the Giants have receivers that can go vertical and catch the freaking ball I think he's gonna have an even better season this year. Somewhere around 25 touchdowns

@@morganyu812 Yeah, honestly that's been an issue for more than just last season too. I think that's something you can coach around and something he can work on. You obviously don't want him throwing into tight windows too much like Tua does because Tua is so accurate. But you gotta take calculated risks throwing the football in today's game to be the best and I've seen DJ makes some nice deep ball throws before. I like our coaching staff and I think they'll know how to handle that issue he still has

@@KamsDaddy401 Again, that’s not true. It’s more than just lifting weights. The reason MLB pitchers and hitters don’t just randomly work on their left is because it takes time. It’s not easy. You can’t do it in a single offseason/ year. So for them it won’t make sense to grind their off hand when you can just make your dominant as good as possibly. Going back to my original comment. It’s intentionally using your off hand during mundane tasks as well as strength training.

Tua problem was his former head coach was a defensive minded. The work of this kind of head coach is to find a good and competent coordinator. Flores didn't this by hiring Chan Gailey, who is a very old-school coach and putting Studesville/Godsey as Co-OCs, who were failures before. The dolphins did right by bringing a OC as a HC, especially somebody from the Shanahan/McVay coaching tree. It is better to hire offensive minded head coach fora young qb since they are more willing to play to his strenghts

Amazing video. You just got my subscription. You know football very well. It's obvious you watch a lot of tape and learned from someone who knew what they were doing. HOWEVER, I'd like to see you show some of the throws Tua hit outside the numbers and outside vertical throws because he has hit quite a lot. There are only really two QBS who can make off balance throws consistently and it's mahommes and allen. Brady couldn't do it if his life depended on it. If Brady couldn't step into a throw, it would be so inaccurate. Teams beat him by pressuring up the middle so he couldn't step into his throws. Tua actually plays a lot like Brady. A lot. If Tua can get his processing level to where Tom's was.... The fins will be a top team for many years. He's really not that far away either. That was only his first year in that offense. I know that you admitted you were wrong about tua blah blah blah, but his arm strength is completely average. Teddy Bridgewater had the 3rd longest air distance throw last year and does he have a strong arm? Eh.. it's average. Tua has no trouble making throws to the wide side of the field outside the numbers if he can step into the throw. I've seen him make them since college. So my only real issue with the video is that you botched your negative review of him. Yes, he can't make off platform throws. he is not good throwing off his back foot, but there are only 2-3 qbs who actually can pull off the back foot throw and it sometimes can ruin a season or lose a game. See Josh Allen in the playoffs for a great example. Dude thinks he can make any throw from any platform and gets picked off doing it all the time. Also lost the game to the dolphins because he tried throwing off his back foot on a 2 yard wide open flat route for a td and the ball didn't even make it to the receivers feet. Tua can make every single NFL throw with his arm strength. There's plenty of footage of it. Tua also doesn't have the freak arm that only 2-3 qbs have where they can successfully throw off platform. And for anyone who has a kid or is coaching someone to be a QB. Have them play baseball and play the infield. Or just have them take infield a few times a week. That's how you develop the off balence throw. It's just good for footwork too. Look forward to more of your videos!!

Tua is showing signs of being a Great QB, but the game that changed the Dolphins offense was against the 49ers with a press coverge and being more physical againts his speedsters receivers. They just allowed just 10 points and a TD on garbage time

Niners defense wasn't the problem Tua was just missing throws he usually makes, pressure was getting to him A LOT that game, and he was over thinking about the middle field players recover ability. He did it vs the Steelers with Fritzpatrick and in the Niners game. The chargers are a better example of how to beat Tua but it's risky cause you have to play light boxes and trust your DB on out braking and sideline shot one on one (Hill did have a Bomb route go for 6 in single coverage while playing hurt)

Maybe Hill gets tackled but it still doesn't change the fact that the chargers played a light box and pressing our WRs was the best way to beat our offense. Miami did adjust later in the season with more running and out breaking routes.

Be real, that Td was not in garbage time. It cut the lead to a one score game and the Dolphins got the ball back and drove past midfield to take the lead. The drive stalled after the Gesicki drop. Then the Dolphins defense let the 49ers drive the whole field on a long sustained drive to ice the game with a field goal.

Rollins here has just explained why he’s not actually good at evaluating players and projecting them in any serious capacity. He admits that Tua had borderline nothing dogshit around him (historically bad OL, a coach sabotaging him, the worst OCs, the worst group of weapons, and a middling defense) for the first two years, but instead of referencing those facts and going from there, he (and so many other atrocious “evaluators”) lied and treated Tua either in a vacuum or as if everything around him wasn’t historically awful. Anyone who’s remotely objective and watched Tua since Alabama knew he’s a great QB. Everything he’s doing now is what he was doing in college. Don’t let these frauds who’re either liars or talking out of their ass off the hook. you could make the argument in regards to arm strength that if Reek wasnt the receiver in that play it would have just been incomplete. if we regard tua as elite anticipation he will inevitably anticipate wrong sometimes, (full arm strength every time is not a trait of anticipation). tyreek also had a play or two this season that looked intended for someone else but hes just so good he had to catch it lol. great video dude keep up the good work

last season was the first time tua had pro level coaching, that was the main problem. flores did not care about the offense and hired terrible offensive coaches, worst OL in the league and sometimes jakeem grant was WR1. no young qb has a chance in these circumstances, thankfully mcdaniel has arrived just in time

Tua is a concussion away from being out of the NFL. Heck almost retired this off season. Play style improved? Dude is in a west coast qb friendly offensive system with 3 of the fastest recievers in the league. Give Rodgers, Allen, Herbert or Mahomes Tua's WRs in 2022. Those 4 names would of had over 50 tds with over 5k yards. Heck Mahomes lead all qbs in tds and yards in 2022 with a weak recievering corp. Kelce a TE is his leading WR. Tua with the SAME EVERYTHING Mahomes had in 2022 would of been no where NEAR the superbowl or those stats Mahomes had. But Mahomes with Tua's same everything Tua had on the dolphins would of set league records. Tua will go down to be an injury bust. Dolphins should of drafted Herbert. Herbert would of had them deep in the playoffs with those offense weapons/ that defense. Herbert proved he can still make the playoffs with a beyond injured OL and alot of his main WR weapons hurt most the year and a terrible defense. Also Herbert doesn't have a soft head like Tua. Herbert has taken huge hits and still kept playing. Herbert has almost as many yards as Luck in his first 3 seasons and has more tds than an qb in history through 3 seasons. CAPTAIN bubble wrap tua is who they drafted.

Also.... The narrative that Tua sucked his first 2 years and just had a winning record because??... um... If you watch the All22 and analyze the 'weapons' - Tua had a winning record with the worse pass rated and overall rated O-Line, no running game, and receivers that put them bottom 3 on average separation distance. So a young QB without a running game, bad O-Line, and bad receivers - had a 14-7 record over 2yrs.
