I'm all about instant gratification, so glad you went back and showed the finished pond with landscaping. The pond and fish are beautiful!

When I’m building in the cold put the end of the flexible pvc over the exhaust of my excavator for a couple minutes it heats the whole pipe really well. You loose a about 2” of pipe because it deforms from the heat but it works very well.

Yep, takes some creativity to keep charging along in the cold ha ha

Very nice build. It blows me away still that something like this can be done in one day. Do you mind me asking what pump is needed for a pond this size?

For these Simplicity Series ponds, how high is the waterfall in relation to the water level?
@Tusseylandscaping Жыл бұрын
Hey There!! Each job will vary ! I know that's not a good answer but it just kind of depends!

ONLY 7K ?? the cost of materials is probably less than half the cost......
@Tusseylandscaping5 жыл бұрын
The cost of materials on an oil painting is maybe $100? Sells for thousands....

@@Tusseylandscaping For starters, I’m a subscriber of your channel. I watch a lot of pond videos, whether it is pond builds or just showing off ponds (ex: Greg Wittsock). You’ve created some great ponds/waterfalls. I get it. You’re a business and you’re trying to make money. Ponds are a huge money maker for a landscaping business. I don’t think your comparison is a valid one though. If an art collector pays thousands for a painting, the notion is that it will appreciate in value. Twenty years from now, they could possibly turn around and sell it for ten times the price. Also, if you move, you can take the painting with you. A small pond like the one in this video is not going to add much, if any, value to a home……and you can’t take it with you. I wasn’t, and I’m not, trying to be offensive, but I think the issue I have with this pond is that, in my opinion, it was a cookie cutter install. That’s why I commented on someone thinking $7,000 was a steal.

Hey thanks for the comment, yeah I totally get it. I dont disagree with the points you made. I realize ponds vs painting isnt a fair comparision, I was just trying to make the point that if businesses started only charging a bit more than materials cost, most businesses would not be in business. Are we the cheapest? Nope. Are you getting one of the best pond builders in the world when you hire us? Ask anyone in the industry for the answer. The one similarity that these water features do have to a painting is that they are a work of art. The value is in the eye of the beholder. As a general rule of thumb, in contracting businesses, a project's price is roughly half materials, half labor and overhead. We shoot for a 10% profit, We dont have to get very many things wrong before things go upside down in that tight of a margin. Thankfuly with an experienced team, efficiency and dependability helps this be possible. In this case, it took $150k of equip, trucks, machines, and a team with decades of experience to build this 7k pond. Anyways, I'm just rambling here hope that helps shed some light, and please take my previous comment as a bit of light hearted banter :) Thanks for being a subscriber too 👍🙏
