LOL Thanks.. As a 66 year old with a 70 year old hubby and a Envoy, I was trying to figure out how to get the kayaks up on the higher car. Excellent work ladies.

Thanks ladies, as a 30yo female I've been trying to figure out how to do this solo (unsuccessfully) and your method gives me an idea of how to start 👍

Perfect!! I have a mid-70's friend who wants to kayak with me, but has never been able to lift her end of the kayak to get it on the car roof. With this method, we got it on in minutes! Thank you so much for sharing this video!!!

Noodles on the top of the back doors is a great idea. There sure is a lot of paint scratching going on though with the strap clamps & the kayaks!

I love the "flip" at the 2:23 minute mark! So helpful when struggling with a heavy kayak. Thanks!

Thank you for the video on how to. Your method was perfect. My partner and I just picked up two kayaks (we are two women in our 60's) one (me) is 5' (most videos were tall men installing on short cars) We have done it now twice it is perfect. Thank you

I've been doing this 17 years now, but I really enjoyed your video and learned a few things. Thanks! Brilliant bow/fore tie-down, aft as well??? (I've heard dozens of 'lost my yak from my rack' stories. In none of them were both the bow and stern tied down. Some were only one of them. For your fore/bow tie down open up your hood. Near the side you'll see sheet metal bolts/screws (with flanges - so you don't need washers) holding the fender onto the main body. Unscrew one on each side. Make a loop out of thin webbing and burn a hole through it with a hot bolt (different bolt held in visegrips) or soldering iron. Bolt this to your truck. (I thought I'd better get a longer bolts... but you probably won't need it.) Now you have a loops sticking out from under the sides of your hood (or if you're going to the prom you can tuck them under the hood out of sight.) This system makes really effective tie-points for the bow. (Done this for at least ten years, and I started out using webbing from an old NRS strap, and it's still good. ) For the stern/aft if there are not two tie points under the bumper get a couple of hood anchors (link below) You just close the trunk or back hatch on them. Happy paddling! www.rei.com/product/129550/yakima-hood-anchor-pair?CAWELAID=120217890005260358&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=102031206402&CATCI=pla-647846793062&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1295500001%7C92700053259074074%7CTOF%7C71700000062011427&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrJOMBhCZARIsAGEd4VFXdL5YEZ2j2BQx7rWTDft7WwedDnl4yGI5Z2tkUuasrsL2el7WQKMaAhPOEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Great job ladies!!! If a noodle isn't available to use, consider a padded blanket (like a moving pad) thrown over the door to cushion the kayak and protect the door seal.
