@@rachzor I always say to be patriotic you have to know your history and feel parts of it...most Nigerians are not taught and secondly, most are not even Nigerians(porous border system) but let's leave that for now.,. like you have said they do not feel amongst... the problem of Nigeria started during Biafra and the natural greed to have a share of the wealth by the selfish individual,, not one from then till date, maybe a few were patriotic... look greed made them kill one another ..what makes it worse is that the younger generation is not connected at all, till the country has something to offer then, be it a good passport (GDP), security (state security), livelihood (right to life) ..then there can be light at the end of the tunnel.

Our local entertainment industry also contributed to the mess by copying non-African contents and promoting the same. Just look at our music back in the days of Osadebe, Ebenezer Obey, Rex Lawson, Orlando Owoh, etc. What we have nowadays are a complete hogwash! It is really sad to realize how things have gone from livable conditions to the quagmire in which we find ourselves today. Unfortunately, the good old days may never return. Growing up in the early 80s, my town was surrounded by lush forests and it was common to see leaves 🍁 on the streets after a heavy rainstorm. But it wasn’t very long that I also became accustomed to the constant sound of chainsaws as people started cutting the trees for timber. African maple, Iroko and other natural tree populations were wiped off in less than a decade and the entire landscape today is left bare.

I wish they'll be on the comments here to respond to some of our questions on conservation. It's sad that after Liyel Imoke the Governors stopped showing any concerns about this project. I wish the FG will give them a listening ear so they can give great advise on enhancing conversation in Nigeria. One example that brings so much pains to me is the condition of the Lame game Reserve in Bauchi State which has been poached to bear cos no government as far back as I can remember even from the mid 80s showed any concern about it, A few of the Governors have invested in Yankari Game Reserve and a little in Tunu Game Reserve but never ever Lame Game Reserve. It's still on the Maps but in reality nothing. And I'm very sure if Liza Gadsby & Peter Jenkins had not adopted this project personally it would have been wiped out a long time ago. The interviewer’s question about leadership reflects a common Nigerian mindset that contributes to many of the country’s issues. Many believe leadership is about power & giving orders, so everyone wants to be in charge. Additionally, there’s a tendency to blame all problems on leadership, overlooking the fact that bad leaders come from the people themselves. To truly solve Nigeria’s problems with leadership & governance, we need to address the root causes at source. Virtually, everybody is on the take. At Enugu, a civil servant demand £10k bribe with impunity before he could search for my NIN. Imagine!
