What I found is that the yellow cabs still use the Uber app to get customers, then once you're in the cab, they'll cancel and run the meter and expect you to pay according to that. I was warned of this and while my driver didn't cancel on the app, since they also only insist on cash trips, when I gave him the value quoted on Uber at my destination, he started shouting, pointing at the meter. Luckily I had the extra cash! Didn't help that English is not widely spoken there either.

Thank you Mooshtaffa! I also watched a recent episode on The Penuel Show about E-Halling, Meter-Taxi Industry and Uber in South Africa. It was very insightful! I will be sure to send this video to The Penuel Show as part of the solutions they were looking for.

I love how you inform us on how things are being done by some other countries, so that we critically assess how to incorporate those in our country so that the certain market can do better!

Dubai also dealt with Uber in an interesting way. Their meter taxis are cheaper than Uber. Which encourages people to use them more than uber. I think the government forces uber to have higher tariffs hahaha

Please cover the 🇿🇦 spaza shops how they were, how they are. What they should be like, what is the government's responsibility.

You pronounced the name of the country correctly but you've written it wrong Mkhuluwa. It's Turkiye, that's the official name of the country please respect that. I find it disheartening not calling a country by it's name. Same like those who say North Korea instead of DPRK... Just coz the enemy in Seoul decided to make themselves South Korea as their official name doesn't mean their neighbours in the north are automatically North Korea. NO, it's the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). If we continue like this, we might as well call Zimbabwe Rhodesia
