hopefully with her athleticism ayanna can develop a role. maybe as a rebounder or defender. If she could score via offensive rebounds and putbacks she could see more playing time.. Aubrey is huge. watching her run the court, watching her glide, slash. She even has a occasional 3 point shot. Nika is a surprisingly good 3 point shooter when she has time to set her feet. We have 3 potential all americans and 1 potential player of the year.

Caroline was playing like absolute trash early in the season, but she essentially won the game against Marquette when she went off in the 4th qtr. I agree… but now concussion protocol 😔

It hurt watching a game. I jump every time I see a player hit the floor. This is a dangerous team with the current lineup; they would be unstoppable at full strength!

Thank you very much. If you had another hour you could fill it up with more about what this team has, and is, accomplishing in the face of adversity. Azzi will be back and Amari DeBerry is slowly getting adjusted. And, how about Aubrey Griffin? If Caroline can get back her form from a year ago.............Well, Final Four? Yes, a possibility. More than that? ANYTHING is possible for this squad. With Aaliyah, Dorka, Nika and Lou doing their thing........ But, one game at a time. That's always been the motto and credit Geno for maintaining that desire to be the best they can be.

@@TheDisruptiveOne You're looking for results in numbers. That's not what is going on. It's getting adjusted mentally. Many players who have dominated in their early years understand it is very different at this level at they have to "adjust". She will not be a big factor this time around but, if foul trouble arises, the 5 or so minutes she will have an opportunity to play, she can make the most of it and contribute to the team's success.

Though the team has injuries, Keep encouraging the players who’s carrying the torch right now, most of all, don’t leave anyone out, love support and encourage every player on the team even the ones who didn’t this time. A large part of their victories goes to Geno. He has used his small group of players to their max potential. Designing plays they can execute, and letting players have confidence in his leadership. Give a shout out to him, as well.

Why have they stayed afloat? The players. Aaliyah Edwards, Lou, and Nika in particular. Those core three have been available for almost every game. Aubrey and Caroline have almost been as important. But they belong a notch before those three.

I completely agree that these 3 players have contributed the most. Lou is the most pleasant surprise- she has added offense that not only was lost with Paige's absence but she has prevented teams from focusing exclusively on Azzi. Aaliyah has been a beast and I already thought she should be an All American candidate (like the video states); however, let's see how she does against excellent bigs like Boston (South Carolina), Brink (Stanford), etc. Nika has surprised me with her great improvement in playmaking; the offense stagnates when she is not on the floor. The players contributing well at a lower level include Aubrey, Djorka, and Caroline. Djorka is better than last year but she is not a game changer; she has only played against 6 teams. I hope that Caroline will be as good as she was last year (Marquette game was a start). If UConn is at full strength with continued improvement by Caroline, I think they will make the Final Four again.

Every other team in the country has to play without Paige. There’s no reason to believe that UCONN with all of their talent won’t successfully do the same.

Great video W-Hoops! It's so good to see you back and UConn has really been putting in work without Paige and Azzi. Everybody has been stepping up and doing their thing when they needed it. UConn is still strong despite the loss of Paige/Azzi/Muhl. When Paige and Azzi comes back they're definitely going to be on a mission no doubt. Also, have you seen Jaz Shelley? She's been going off in Big 10 play! Recently she dropped 29 points against Maryland, she dropped 31 points against Wisconsin and she dropped 21 points against Michigan. She has been solid this year and would love to see a video on her and Nebraska if possible. The only thing is that she has to be more aggressive and step up when her team really needs her. But as always great video W-Hoops and keep up the amazing content 🔥

I will say what nobody seems to want to say. Paige Bueckers is a great player, but obviously not so great that they cannot win without her. They have been doing well and that is through their recruiting and coaching.

Come on! It's not like we only have 2-3 Blue Chip players on this team and if they get injured we're SOL! UCONN is a whole team of top D-1 players and no matter who is available to play, they're gonna do their best to be competitive. When at full strength (minus Paige and Ice), we're still a top 5 team! I expect us to compete with the SC and SU teams for the next couple of years.

Without Paige Bueckers??? They're without her and Ice Brady. Dorka missed a an extended period. Azzi and Aubrey out. Nika had to sit and CD is obviously playing well below 100%. UCONN's injured and trying to play injured isn't Final 4 team, it's a national championship team.

Yeah that was the case very early last season (particularly the South Florida game) and then late last season with Paige coming back from injury. But with the way Azzi had been playing up until her injury I don't see any team being able to stop them if Paige had also been out there.

40min. Played no points scored. Defense pays no attention to players they know won't score. Watch muhl stand alone as D double teams ball, no cutting for basket. Team poor on blocking shots and reb.
