The ending to all of this is extremely funny - people were going around speculating originally that is was an Asian singer trying to sing a song in English. Then someone claimed to have remembered listening to it when they were young from a commercial about an ice-cream product; then someone claimed to have heard it from a car commercial from in the 90´s, then someone suggested it was a lost song by the duo Savage Garden (because of similar voices). To my knowledge, the search for this song even appeared on French TV and on a UK radio station - I can assure that at least it won´t appear on any national TV ever again... It is also very funny that many KZbinrs have made their own covers/versions of the song based on the original snippet, and people are now going around saying on their comment sections that their versions are better then the original song! 😂😂😂 (Very true)

Thank you for being the only one I've seen so far to point out the fact that this was very blatantly Carl covering his own tracks. @@GumSkyloard It's not the joking I'm annoyed with, it's the fact that on lyric videos for the song there are comments that are talking about how they can't hear the song the same way again. And on recreations of the song, that were made before it was found, there are comments saying they will only see the remake as the original and pretty much all of the replies are agreeing with them. (Also sorry if my original comment seemed mad, I don't quite know how to get tone across in text yet.)

I think it's safe to say we will get a remaster/remake, at least. Cristopher and Philip have confirmed on a Rolling Stone interview that they're working on it, have the original rhythm track (they're trying to find the vocals track, imo they might be trying to keep the original vibe, just in modern quality) and will release (from my understanding) an album that features their music from the 80s. So look out for that!

I have a theory. Carl92 was doing his thing, then he heard the song, and thought it was a song they used, not knowing it was made for the movie. So he asked where it was from, only for him to later dip when he found out it was made for the film, not helped with people asking where he got the audio from
