I use quicktime for recording real-time videos. And I use a app called ScreenNinja when I want to record time-lapse videos. What a walkthrough of how I create speed art videos help out to make in the future?

Are the vector shapes you use made in illustrator first, and then exported?

It depends what I'm making. For more complicated shapes I use illustrator and simple shapes I just make inside of Photoshop. I don't even export though. I just copy from illustrator and paste into Photoshop.
