How Viable is the Great Scythe in Dark Souls 1?

Some people are mentioning that the answer to the question of this video seems obvious, and yeah it kind of is. But not only did I want to inform others who didn’t know about the great scythe or why it is good, I chose it to be the first video of the series so then I could focus on figuring out the editing instead of the run. I assure you that in the future there will be more weapons with less obvious conclusions.

The reason it was one of the best weapons is for the reason it could hit the head as there was a unique head shot mechanic that lets you deal even more damage if you are able to hit the head. That worked also with the gargoyle halberd. They were amazing weapons in pve personally for the ease of use and can even get them early in the game if you really wanna get a staple of a weapon from the get go.

On my first ever playthrough of DS (which was also my first ever souls game) earlier this year, I had a +15 great scythe towards the end of the game and I felt UNSTOPPABLE. Never had so much fun playing a game in my life

@@coraini666 Yea, the answer is pretty obvious I give you that. But I chose it so then I could have an easier run and then focus on figuring out how I wanted to edit this kind of video since I want this to be a series. In the future, there will be more obscure weapons with less obvious answers.

really good video, ur voice during most of the time is really listenable, and definitely a good up and coming, second-monitor worthy channel. if i can offer genuine criticism, the mic peaking and outbursts are kinda cringe and dont fit the rest of the format of the video, although i understand you have and want to showcase your personality. just keep that in mind for the people listening.

Those outbusrts sound a lot like Lemon from The Backlogs channel. They clipped a little, but it's nothing that the "normalize" function on a audio edit software ( I recommend Sound Forge) wont solve

Just any weapon that does a high overhead attack, you need to hit the female part of the boss. I think the bkh also does this

@@angelmeier4382 I haven’t used the Lifehunt Scythe personally, but I’d say the Great Scythe is better. The gimmick on the lifehunt scythe seems more annoying than worthwhile imo, despite it doing a bit more damage bc of the bleeding

I think the sprint attack is what makes it insanely good the attack is so fast you can just hit and back up so fast it must be annoying for the enemies

not to mention you can fire ascend the scythe in about 15 minutes of playtime if you blast through pinwheel to the smith after grabbing the scythe
