This is one of the best things I've seen from a politician. Hopefully the community is appreciative and positive about it

H.E Gov.Otichilo understands the true meaning of the bottom up approach where the local people involvement is a must.... Good work Governor 👏

Hope they leave clear hiking tracks. I love hiking there. Also, not just cyprus trees. We need natural trees, fruit trees etc to attract biodiversity- birds, animals, etc.

Congratulation governor. If you can only bring life to this place that's enough work. You'll be remembered in history.

good work sir,the authorities should make the restoration of this forest people owned.invove the locals in tree growing and planting initiatives rather than buying sedlings from people elswhere

This is the advantage of voting a well educated person... Mr Gov here is a very good example of leaders who should be given a chance to lead. Hongera Gov Otichilo.

This is a great initiative. But the choice of trees planted for re-afforestation should be revisited. Cypress tree is not the best

Vihiga people should be ashamed to have leader in the name of musali mundavadi. The guy has been in government for over 30yrs. He watched this forest depleted over years. All he's been after is taking care of his stomach. While other leaders are taking care of their communities he's been in Nairobi enjoying life. Thank fir highlighting the scourge. Hopefully instead them eating all the cash set for environment., someone might remember to help restore this beautiful maragoli hills.

Bad vibe, throwing blames won't solve a thing. We can do sth at personal level

Vihiga people did not vote for Mudavadi, we voted for this governor. MM was appointed by Ruto. We even voted MM out when he was VP. We are the most democratic people in Kenya. The governor is from a smaller Banyore clan, but the bigger Maragoli clan voted for him. The majority of Vihigans left Musalia ANC and voted for Raila

Nyamaza. What's with the constant negativity wherever Africans are doing anything positive? If it were Chinese planting you would be clapping with your buttocks

Some guys here are just as dump as the leaders they elect. How do you watch a heritage like maragoli forest get destroyed and you call yourselves leaders. I appreciate the effort being put forward to restore it but can never forgive the past and some current leaders who watched it get destroyed. Mundavandi being one of them.
