Two situations are very different, In England there is swing, which once you have read it is out or in and are certain of your off stump you can leave balls easily and even play away from your body because the ball will rarely change its line and it will swing in the same direction. In Australia there is seam in which case even if you are certain of your off stump you cannot play away from your body because in the air the ball could look going in one direction and after pitching can seam in another or seam in the same direction but much more violently. The other thing is bounce which I think is causing much more trouble to kohli. Because of his forward press and his reluctance/inability to go on the back foot, which he used to do quite often in the past. He is getting rushed and he is trying to defend/counter that with his hands which is making him fail. Because in Australia it is very important to play close to the body and go to the ball with your feet movement and not throw your hands at it or try to fend it from your hands.

Not a single cut shot or punch to counter the seam movement which is coming at a good height ..... Its making it look like he has a limited range of shots which is not true we have seen him cut and slash and play down to the third man in ipl and odi ..... Also he is not in the right mental space .... Is getting distracted easily .... In one or two innings he did try his best to be patient and disciplined but one moment of losing focus cost him dearly ..... Also he is driving too far away from his body his trigger movement is also choppy .... Which often happens with Virat till he gets settled be it any format but ones he gets settled everything starts flowing no matter how tough conditions are but thing is he is just not settling down ..... I feel like being the captain in tests also worked in his favour .... He was more up to the task since he left captaincy his batting has gone downhill ..... There is a lot of cricket left in virat and I'm sure come champions trophy he will be back to scoring runs but the way he got out this series ..... Virat would have to put it behind him and forget it as soon as possible

Well as per an article I read,he is committing lesser % errors than he had in 2018 but is getting caught more,likewise in 2014,he edged one and was out,in 2018 he got a few lifelines at times..like the innings at edgbaston in 2018 where he got a reprieve on 24,51..This time round too,all his edges are being taken.He hasn’t been doing much different than he was in 2018.The same long stride,standing way out of the crease like in 2018(in 2018 his avg bat contact with ball was 2.33 m from stumps,this year it’s 2.34 ig)..His poor form means he wants to middle the balls but isn’t quite able to do that because of the line England are bowling.Also,he has made a slight change from the headingly test with his position of standing and u can see that in jarrod’s video as well).Today might just be the day..if india don’t loose 2-3 wickets in the first hour,and if kohli looks in touch a 100 might just be on the cards today.Flat pitch and with ball turning soft and doing literally nothing,this is Kohli’s biggest chance of scoring a 100 in this series.Fingers crossed🤞

Even 5 to 8 years ago batsman were afraid of anderson,malinga,steyn & stark. Now they had become older & lost their touch. Not a single bowler can't fear batsman. Bumrah,Rashid,pat,anderson,bolt,luki etc. aren't nothing infront of four horseman of WestIndies,Glen,wasim,wakar,murali,steyn,richard,warne etc. This is an era of technology. Even with use of technology they couldn't reach these great bowlers level. Lack of great bowlers has been making batsman job easy. In both cases his front foot points down the pitch rather than towards the ball, and the best swing instead of towards the ball is more aligned with front foot direction. This is common to all bottom handed right eye dominant players who are stronger on the on side. It is a technical flaw from the beginning but he has been able to get away with it. Interestingly, Sunil Gavaskar agrees and said exactly the same on radio commentary.
