I remember E3 2014 so very fondly because of this "weird tech demo from the Animal Crossing team". Everytime the camera panned towards the Splatoon matches, it was so hard to pull it away. I even recall the camera lingering to see the last moments of a match to then switch over to a Miyamoto interview. My second most fond Splatoon memory was the "head of Squid Research Lab" giving tearful closing remarks for a big Splatoon tournament in Japan. Thanking fans for playing the game and he hopes that a Splatoon will be on the way if it's in the cards. And as we can see, the head of Squid Research Lab and the fans got their wish.

I've definitely been looking to GMTK and quite a few other people's thumbnails for inspiration, and I've been trying to work in characters more as well. I think I've been improving a bit - looking back, my Luigi's Mansion thumbnail is pretty awful imo. I did try a more GMTK looking thumbnail for this video, by the way, but I didn't want it to look like I was copying his style, you know? Subscribed recently. I'm always interested in video game history and you have really nice and quick videos that explain the essentials. I hope your channel grows quickly, you deserve it. I was just wondering if you watched the GDC talk about Splatoon since it was not listed as a source. I'm not sure if it had any additional information that wasn't covered here but it had some video of the tofu prototype. I recommend watching it if you haven't already. Keep up the good work!

The original character of the player (the squid people) was actually implemented into the game, not as a skin, just in the lobby, where you'd see it running on screen in splatoon 2.

It's half written as we speak! I just need to stop procrastinating and finish the script... Oh also it'll probably end up closer to 20 mins than 10 mins so it'll probably take a long time to edit. Basically, I'm working on it (but don't hold your breath...)

I recently bought Splatoon 2 for my switch lite because it was such a high rated game but was worried that I wouldn't enjoy it. That obviously was wrong since I love the idea of working in a team with other players. Even my sister whose not into video games at all is addicted to the game and asks to play with it when I'm not using it lmao

Thanks! Just the piano songs at the end though, not the jazz used for the rest of the video. I'll leave that to insaneintherain. I am thinking of putting those piano covers somewhere going forward, though. Maybe Twitter...? I'm not sure yet.
