I watched a utility locator 'witch' for a watermain he couldn't find using electric tracer (tracer wire likely rotted off pipe). He used two 'L' shaped metal rods, held them loosely in his hands, and walked along the area - and the rods slowly moved as he got closer to the main. I didn't believe it but tried it and it worked!! He then dug by hand to confirm location.

I understand. But tone of voice doesn't mean accurate information. For example: Fox News. I would say your best source of information would be Wikipedia. You will find that the information online and that of this video will match.

But even if you're conveying accurate information, your tone of voice, choice of words, etc, can still either help convince a person, or do the opposite. Wells are quite amazing, the way they work, as are many other things in nature. But having such a casual approach takes away from their splendor, I think. Sorry again. I feel so critical.

You're right in your way, but so am i. Search up how wells work on KZbin and you will see a bunch of "normal" videos. Some talk about it scientifically, some architecturally, and others historically. I made my own take on this topic and it seems to do well. This shows that people, or at least the new generation, takes things more casually, so this video does better with them. And different people learn differently so while this may not work for you, it may do wonders for others. But then again, it's just a video.
