your channel had inspired me to build my own affordable dolly that I also can use for underslung shots. I took some ProAm wheels and mounted them to a piece of plywood where my brother built an aluminum adapter plate for, so I can use a 75 and 100mm bowl. Works like a charm. Please don't ever stop what you're doing, I'm sure it's a great inspiration for a lot of other people as well!

Something I used to do this is is a much cheaper jib crane, putting a quickrelease on the tophandle while “flipping” the jib’s mounting plate. This on a tripod+dolly of somesort works too!

How's the movmax dolly comapred to other dolly's you've worked with?
@llllllllllll9.28 күн бұрын
That’s a nice set up! But I think is too much for these small shots… I mean cmon a normal slider with a 85mm for that extra closer look would do pretty good job.. I am pretty sure that this set up can be flexible in different scenarios but not for small things.. Appreciate you showing you set up tho:)
@TenfoldProduction28 күн бұрын
Again, this is a more of a setup that can be adapted to different situations. We just used in in smaller spaces to give you a reference point. Often times, we need to put a large camera like a Venice over a table without showing any stands or anything. This would be the way we do it. For super simple stuff a slider works, but sometimes you need long dollys with a wide, and the stands will show if you don't go underslung.

@@quantumuniverse4606 half the time we’re doing this on Alexa’s, Venice’s. Overall larger cameras, we’re just teaching the concepts on a smaller camera. Appreciate the feedback.
@TheTechnoPilot28 күн бұрын
Let’s be clear, for an overhead setup like this, this is a rather minimal setup independent of camera. A slider cannot achieve that kind of slide distance, nor drop.
