So you said I could... My suggestion would have been the tarps are great but put the heater inside the boat raise the temp to like 27-30C the heat rises through the deck nd cabin top and dries the thing really nicely as the humidity is forced up and out. Cheers, a

I had a Whitby 42 in Nova Scotia, with which the previous owners had started the KiwiGrip painting in the morning (before the deck was completely dry). After a couple of seasons, the paint started to lift in once specific area, due to the moisture (it had just never properly adhered to the deck); however, the repair was so EASY (just sand and scrape the area that lifted, scuff the subsurface and reapply) that it only took about 3 hours from start to finish. KiwiGrip is a forgivable and easily repaired product, it's amazing. Might not hurt to have a quart stashed away somewhere....just in case

I’d like to know how it is to redo the nonskid-because it is so thick and water based, repainting with the same thing or especially with something else, might be difficult. Never think it will last long term because once you paint with any paint, you’ll have to paint again.

We are going to be repainting the non-skid on our current boat in the next few months, so keep an eye out for that video!

Wayward Life Sailing We watched fibreglass sanding and desired to buy a “Rust Bucket” Boat. We don’t think we’ll mind grinding?? Just a techy question... can you stir in some OAK chips to make the Kiwi grip more aggressive or does that void the warranty?
@WaywardLifeSailing3 жыл бұрын
G S no need to add anything in. It’s all about how you texture it when you’re painting it on! You can make it as aggressive or as chill as you want

What is that yellow tape you’re using and does it last for many days in the sun?
@WaywardLifeSailing10 ай бұрын
It's just a painter's tape. It last for a while but the sooner you can get it off the better it comes off. The glue doesn't like to let go when it's been on for a while

I did my boat non skid in Kiwigrip and was getting house rendered with a synthetic render and was taken at how similar the 2 materials seemed to be. So I made a test piece using render and Kiwigrip roller on a piece of ply. Left it doorway so it would get walked on. Next non-skid guess what I'm using at about half the price.

Have you tried it in a marine application though? Cuz salt water can change things

@@WaywardLifeSailing well house is within 100m of ocean and routinely has strong seabreeze. But otherwise, no.

Lynndon Harnell hmmm can u put it right at the beach and walk on it regularly and get back to us?

@@WaywardLifeSailing not really. Ply fell apart and I don't have any more render left.

We’ll done you guys for turning a disaster in to triumph. I'm looking to use KG on my deck this summer having just removed the teak. How is it, still good? How do you find cleaning it, ok?
@WaywardLifeSailing3 жыл бұрын
Yep we are still loving it. We sold this boat and bought another one with kiwi grip on part of the deck and a different deck paint on the rest and the kiwigrip is not only grippier, but a lot cooler and easier on the feet.

@@WaywardLifeSailing thanks for coming back. Coolness of deck is defo not a problem here in the UK and Ireland😊
