Nice video, please how do you add a notification icon to a specific WordPress user dashboard to notify the specific user
@markjszymanski5 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! So, this video is quite old. I have a new series where I build a portal with more robust tools: wpclientportal.co For the notification icon, I haven't done that but if I did, here's a route I would try: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJqVgJiwbq5rfck

@@markjszymanski thanks, please make a video for building a different admin portal for any other admin user on WordPress

❤Thank you soooo much for this! Very informative and educative, and just what i need for my agency website which im building. Much better than just paying for some plugin that you can't customize. And im the type that prefers to build my own stuff. Again thank you, thank you soooo much!

Hi, would this work with elementor standard and not pro? Thanks!

I would say maybe but I'd imagine you'd have to get a bunch of free addon plugins for some of the features.

Hi, Is there a way to build this with elementor and make an kind off dashboard on the front for users to upload texts and stuff for other users? (now it is on the backend of wordpress but maybe you can build it in the front for other users, like different roles or something)
@markjszymanski8 ай бұрын
If I'm understanding you correctly, yes. But I would need more details to give you a recommendation on how to do it.
@Creatievemakers8 ай бұрын
@@markjszymanski Alright, here it goes: I've already created a login dashboard using your old tutorial because Elementor works perfectly for me too. Now, the thing is, in the WordPress dashboard, you create a Custom Post where you select the User, input the data there, and then it gets stamped onto the User's front-end. Now, I want to build this system for one of my clients, but the idea is that they can add things themselves for their clients, but not through the WordPress dashboard... So, the goal is that my clients (high role?) can add data from their own custom dashboard (that i will make for them) that gets stamped for their clients user page (low role?). Without having to navigate through the WordPress system. Is this clearer?

Thank you for the context there. This is a great question for many reasons. Here's the next really important question though - when you say you don't want the client to edit it within the WP dashboard, I need to know why, specifically, you don't want that The next steps will depend on your answer to that

@@markjszymanski , thank you for you reply. I understand what you mean by that, it is not that i don't trust them but i need to manage their website and they don't really want to understand how it works. So I am in control of the back-end and they want to manage only the clientportal information, nothing more. So I have build it before with your older tutorial, and it works perfect for me but not for them. So maybe you could help me out with how this can be done? Again, thank you for your time with replying!

Okay so here's how I process what you're saying there and why I asked the question in my previous comment: You have two options. 1. Customize the wp admin dashboard 2. Create a secondary front end view Either way, you're going to have to create another user role. Example// you're an Admin, Your client is "Site Owner", and the client's clients could be default subscribers or customers. Option 1 is less work for you. You'd be hiding and restricting a ton of things on the WP admin dashboard. You could use something like this: adminmenueditor.com/ - The client would only be able to edit the pieces you let them. Option 2 is more work but maybe a nicer product. You'd have to have custom display conditions on each page that your client could access. Then, you'd have to build and manage forms to edit the CPT and user data from the front end. You may also been page restriction Example// you make a page called "Edit CPT 1" for your client. Well their clients shouldn't be able to access that page. So, you need something like contentcontrolplugin.com/ to make sure the subscriber role cannot access it. (Obviously some of this can be done with code as well)

Hi! Have you any suggestions for making a personal restricted area where users, on their own profile, can view documents that the admin has uploaded exclusively for them? Not a generic restricted area for a role, as subscriptor. Let me give an example: a professor's site with 100 students. Each student has his own profile and each student has his own credentials. Upon logging in to the profile, each student finds his specific homeworks for the next lesson, and each can view or download as needed. Obviously, the student cannot see the assignments given to others. Everyone only sees their own assignments (even uploaded as pdfs) and that's it. Any ideas?

If you have dropbox, create a dedicated folder for each student to access -> assign that folder to a student as a "Student metadata" -> when they click that link, they will be able to view the specific data in that dropbox folder If you want them to upload homeworks, you can use the dropbox request upload feature which will directly insert their homeworks in a certain folder (can also be a dedicated folder for each student or a single depository folder for all of them All this only can occur if you have dropbox of course With Zapier you can automate a folder creation per new users on your wordpress then assigning that folder to that user as a metadata I wish i know a simpler answer and hope this helps in anyway

@@JayCad thank you. Yeah this is an option, maybe the simplest, with dropbox or google drive. I would like to keep the data on the site's server, so now I'm trying plugins like wp customer area

You would want to create a relation between the appropriate CPTs. You could then dynamically display appropriate items based on user.
