Completely agree with adding Story of the World Activity Sheets to the curriculum. Especially if you have younger children or just need more coloring sheets. Thanks for sharing your video.

Thank you sooo much! I taught MFW creation... years ago when my oldest twins were about 6th grade (with twins in 2nd, and a toddler! And 2 yet to be born). I know and love STORY oTW and am wrestling with if and how to teach this MFW this year. I 1st-8th this year, so not exactly your situation but this was sooo helpful! Becuase I know that 1st grader has VERY limited attention! Thank you use much!

HI, thank you for the video. I was wondering with all of the changes that you are making, do you still need the teacher's manual? Are you using any art or music for this program? I'm trying to find something for my youngest four kids ages 10-4.

You would be able to work through this easily without the manual. This was us last year… this year I dropped MFW and using the books they recommend and others from other homeschool curriculums created our own plan. I talk about it here if you want to use this as a guide to create your own (different time period of course but same idea) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZfTg2N5fLuBopo

We really enjoy SOTW, but we only listen to the audio book :) However, it really brings history to life!

We are doing hardcover where I read but the audio book version may be necessary in the future!

Thank you so much for this! Are you continuing to do the rest of the curriculum as written, such as science?
@DownHomeWithLemonPie2 жыл бұрын
We are still doing some of the curriculum as written: Greek words and God and the History of Art. For science, we have been doing Applogia since the beginning of the school year.

It’s actually the science they use next year but I have a HUGE astronomy fan so we did it this year instead.

Thanks for all the great information! I did Beautiful Feet American History this year with my kids and am looking at MFW ECC or Story of the World for next year. I’m a little worried about the overwhelm with My Father’s World, and it seems like quite a few people switch after ECC. I know you’re speaking on Creation to the Greeks here, but I’m wondering, do you think you’d do Exploring Countries and Cultures again?
@DownHomeWithLemonPie Жыл бұрын
We loved ECC!! I did monthly updates for each country and they’re in this playlist along with my end of the year review. I also have videos in my curriculum playlist for ECC on additional add ons, enrichment and read alouds. Monthly Homeschool Updates kzbin.info/aero/PLuVMb3YGLM94OtZxttBG9xtAIqJ8toycN That being said… I did change ECC to fit our family at the time. My kids were young and some of the features weren’t a good fit. But it was definitely one of our favorite years! We loved trying foods from various countries, watching various KZbin SHOWS, exploring some crafts and just a general fun exploratory year. The next year was CTG and we left MFW after that year. It was rough as you saw here and it has been so fun using the family learning cycle as a guideline but creating our own personalized curriculum. So much less stress.

Thank you for this video! I couldn't figure out how to incorporate SOTW into the curriculum. Quick question, how do you think Mystery of History vol.1 would match up with Creation to Greek?
@DownHomeWithLemonPie2 жыл бұрын
I’ve preferred just using SOTW as the history component. I’ve never used Mystery of History so I’m not familiar with how it would match up, but we are using the complete SOTW Vol. 1 for this year.

Is Tuttle Twins Mormon?

The author is from my understanding and he has other faith based books BUT this particular series is not a series about faith, rather a series about government overstep.

@@DownHomeWithLemonPie ok, I just heard some things. I knew those books taught civics but was alittle worried when I heard about the author.
