How We Clean Our Goat Barn Naturally | Giving Chickens Soiled Hay to turn into Rich Garden Compost

This Cleaning KZbin video shows you how we clean our goat barn once a week. We start off by removing all soiled bedding and hay. We then put the soiled hay in the chicken run. The chickens sift through the bedding and end up tilling it over a couple months into some amazing compost to use in our garden. During the winter months, we also put the soiled bedding on top of the garden beds so that it can also compost into good fertilizer for our spring garden. The urine is actually a good way to add nitrogen to the soil.
We then scrape off the stuck on dirtier areas of the barn floor. Since we have wooden floors in our barn, we also put down Aglime. Aglime is also known as Agricultural Limestone or garden lime. It is a great way to dry out areas that had moisture and sanitize the barn. We Also use diatomaceous earth or D.E. DE is known to kill parasites and their eggs so it is a great time to sprinkle this on the barn floor, as well.
