Congratulations!! I'm entering my second year in med school and am considering anesthesia. Could you guys talk more about your extracurriculars (research etc...) that you think made you stand out? Specially with STEP1 being pass/fail I think this part is getting to be even more important for application purposes and it can be really stressing lol

This is so inspiring. I’m still in undergrad and it took me so long to compete with myself instead of competing with my peers. I went from wanting to be a vet to dermatologist to now OB/GYN and that may or may not change once I hit clinical rotations 🤷🏾‍♀️. But I’d definitely like to know for matching do you apply to a specialty? A specific program at a specific hospital? Does it matter if it’s in-state or out/of-state? Because I’m out-of state now for undergrad, want to go back to Florida for med school, and pray that I work at my desired hospital in Florida too

You apply to various programs across the nation that you would like attend. Those programs invite you to an interview at their school. You rank the programs that you interviewed at from best to worst and those programs rank all of their applicants as well. Hopefully you have a perfect match and you find out during match week!
